MESSAGE FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT
United in Purpose, United in Learning
Dear Caldwell Community, Parents, and Guardians,
First, I want to express my gratitude to our incredible community members and business partners. Your ongoing support helps make Caldwell a wonderful place to live and provides the essential resources our students need to thrive.
To our parents, thank you for continuously supporting our teachers and advocating for our students. It is truly inspiring to see you cheering on our kids as champions.
Our educators work tirelessly to deliver exceptional instruction and learning experiences, putting extraordinary time and care into helping every student reach their full potential. Thank you so much for your care and expertise.
I also want to recognize our students for their dedicated efforts. I frequently receive compliments from community members highlighting how polite, respectful, and well-spoken our students are. We have so much to celebrate, including our boys' soccer team winning back-to-back state championships—an incredible achievement!
Additionally, our student council will be recognized at the state level next week for their outstanding leadership, our cross-country team is headed to state, our Caldwell High School Marching Band delivered outstanding performances over the past few weeks, and our Robotics Teams excelled at recent competitions. We could not be prouder of our students or more grateful for their hard work.
As winter approaches, I would like to remind our students, staff, and families to prioritize safety during cold weather and hazardous travel conditions. Please allow extra time for your morning commute, drive cautiously, and wear appropriate footwear to prevent slips and falls. While our facilities team works diligently to clear snow and ice from parking lots and sidewalks, conditions can change rapidly, so please exercise extra caution. In the event of severe weather, our top priority is always student, staff and community safety. Our team begins monitoring and driving road conditions at 3:00 a.m., with the goal of making an official delay or closure decision between 4:30 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. Every decision is made with safety in mind to prevent accidents and injuries on the road.
Finally, Election Day is Tuesday, November 3rd. Exercising your right to vote is a vital part of supporting our community. Thank you in advance for making your voice heard at the polls.
Thank you for your continued partnership and commitment to Caldwell schools.
We Are Caldwell!
Best to all,
Mr. Montoya

WE ARE UNITED IN LEARNING
🔬 Three Years of Growing Science Education in Caldwell! 🧪🌎
Caldwell School District is proud to celebrate three years of participation in the Science Pathways Project, a professional learning initiative designed to strengthen science instruction and create more meaningful learning experiences for students.
Through this partnership, Caldwell science educators have collaborated with colleagues, explored innovative instructional strategies, and deepened their understanding of how to engage students in authentic, inquiry-based science learning.
With support from science education coach Patrice Rex, participating teachers have focused on helping students think like scientists—asking questions, investigating phenomena, analyzing evidence, and developing explanations about the world around them.
💙💛 The impact extends far beyond professional development. By investing in our teachers, Caldwell School District is building stronger science classrooms and helping students develop the critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills they need for future success.
Three years of learning, collaboration, and growth—and a lasting investment in Caldwell students! 🔬✨
💙💛 A champion for our students, families, and community!
Join us in congratulating Paul Webster, who was honored as Community Schools Champion of the Year at the Family & Community Engagement (FACE) Conference! 🏆
The statewide conference brings educators and community partners together to strengthen connections between schools, families, and communities so students can thrive.
Paul, thank you for the heart and dedication you bring to supporting Caldwell’s students and families. Your work helps build meaningful relationships, strengthen our school community, and remind families they have someone in their corner.
We are proud to celebrate you and this well-deserved recognition! 👏💙💛
October 2026 Employees of the Month
2026-2027 Superintendent Council
Student Voices at the Table
Superintendent Scot Montoya recently met again with the 2026–2027 Superintendent Student Council, bringing together student representatives from Caldwell High School and Canyon Springs High School for another meaningful conversation.
During this meeting, students discussed the importance of making safe choices, looking out for one another, and prioritizing safety in their schools and community. They also talked about preparing for life after high school, including the importance of researching and applying for college scholarships to help make their future educational goals possible.
These monthly conversations provide students with an opportunity to share their perspectives, ask questions, explore important topics, and learn from one another while helping shape the future of Caldwell School District.
We are proud of these student leaders for their engagement, thoughtful contributions, and commitment to making a difference. Their voices matter!
We Are Caldwell! 💙💛

SAFETY UPDATE
Fall Safety Tips
Fall & Winter Safety Tips
As we move through the fall season and approach winter, student safety remains a top priority across Caldwell School District. Shorter days, colder temperatures, snow, and icy conditions can create additional challenges for students and families. We encourage everyone to take a few extra precautions to stay safe.
Fall and Winter Safety Reminders:
Remind students to use designated crosswalks, stay alert, and wear bright or reflective clothing to increase visibility during early mornings and evenings.
Encourage students to make eye contact with drivers before crossing the street to ensure it is safe.
Drivers, please use extra caution in school zones, at crosswalks, and during busy drop-off and pick-up times.
Practice safe walking routes with your child and remind them to watch for changing road and weather conditions.
Allow extra time for your morning commute during colder weather, drive cautiously, and wear appropriate footwear to help prevent slips and falls.
While our facilities team works hard to clear snow and ice from parking lots and sidewalks, conditions can change quickly. Please use extra caution when walking on school grounds.
Snow Days and School Closures
In the event of severe winter weather, the safety of our students, staff, and community is always our top priority. Our team begins monitoring weather forecasts and assessing road conditions as early as 3:00 a.m., with the goal of making an official decision about a school delay or closure between 4:30 a.m. and 5:00 a.m.
These decisions are made carefully, with road conditions, weather forecasts, and the safety of everyone traveling to and from school in mind.
We encourage families to plan ahead, stay informed, and allow extra time when traveling during the winter months. A few simple precautions can go a long way in keeping our students, staff, and community safe throughout the season.
