π― One Final 100th Year Celebration! π―
Thanks to everyone who organized, threw, performed, volunteered, and attended Leyden's 100th Anniversary final event, the community picnic, at East Leyden. The entire community was invited to this free event that featured a cookout, food trucks, and plenty of family-friendly activities to enjoy. There were inflatable and lawn games, performances and information tables from feeder schools, building tours, raffle baskets, and a reveal of the artifacts going into the East and West time capsules.
π Keep Your Eye on The Eagle's Eye π
The EII Journalism students have restored the school's online newspaper, called The Eagle's Eye! In addition to student-written pieces, this digital newspaper has the latest episodes of the morning announcements, as well as a flipbook of The Talon, the district's literary magazine.
Are there any stories YOU would like to see covered in The Eagle's Eye? If so, share your ideas with Mr. Victor Giordano (vgiordano@leyden212.org). The Eagle's Eye will continue next year, so you may see your idea in an edition coming soon!
