Message from Dr. Weber Message from Dr. Weber

We are off to a great start for the 2026-2027 school year. Having just completed our first full week of school, I already know we will be accomplishing great things together at Turner High School. The students and staff have been working together to learn expectations that will set a solid foundation for the rest of the school year.

I do want to personally thank all of you who came out for our Back to School Night this past week. It was great to see so many familiar faces. We look forward to the opportunity to collaborate in making this a wonderful year for your student. As always, we are always just a phone call or an email away if you need anything.

Due to space constraints, the morning security checkpoint for car riders and drivers will be moved, starting on Monday, August 24, 2026, to the auditorium lobby. This means when these two groups arrive, they will enter through the door on the northeast corner of the auditorium lobby. At 7:20 AM, the checkpoint will move back to the front doors so students who are tardy to school can check-in to the attendance office.

Please remember that school is in session from 7:20 AM to 2:20 PM. It is critical that students come to school on a daily basis and are on time. Students receive 5 excused tardies to school and 10 excused absences. After those allotments are used, all further tardies and absences become unexcused. Items, like detention and suspension, will be assigned for excessive tardiness and absence. Your assistance in encouraging great attendance is appreciated.

Late buses will begin on Tuesday, September 8th. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, we will be offering after school help and detentions. These last until 3:45 PM. Once complete, late buses will take students home.

Bell schedules for the next two weeks are the following:

Monday, August 24th: T Day (7 Period Day with seminar)

Tuesday, August 25th: Black Day (Block schedule with hours 1, 3, 5, and 7)

Wednesday, August 26th: Gold Day (Block schedule with Hours 2, Skills, Seminar, 4, and 6)

Thursday, August 27th: Black Day

Friday, August 28th: Gold Day

Monday, August 17th: T Day

Tuesday, August 18th: Black Day

Wednesday, August 19th: Gold Day

Thursday, August 20th: Black Day

Friday, August 21st: Gold Day

Below are a couple of great pictures of two events from the past couple of weeks, Senior Sunrise and our Activity Fair. Additionally, there is a story about awards for three of our staff members.

This newsletter will be updated twice a month with the necessary information needed. Below you will find upcoming dates and important links. As always, if there is ever a time we can be of help to you and your student, please contact us. Love you Bears!

THS Staff Receiver Point of Light Awards

Three THS staff members were recipients of the District Point of Light Awards at the district convocation on August 7, 2026. These awards are presented to staff members, who through their hard work, dedication, and spirit, make our school better each and every day. Mr. Don Davidson, head custodian, was the recipient of the Classified Point of Light Award. Ms. Chambers and Ms. Devine, physical education teachers, were co-recipients of the Certified Point of Light Award. They were instrumental in the creation of the Claw Crew, which returned school spirit and excitement back to THS last school year. We are honored to serve alongside these individuals every day.
