Homecoming is one of the most exciting times of the year at HF — a celebration of school spirit, tradition, and community. As we prepare for the September 19 Homecoming football game, our top priority is ensuring that the event is safe, welcoming, and enjoyable for everyone.

Over the past weeks, we have met with HF administration, partner school superintendents, senior students, the Village of Flossmoor and the Flossmoor Police Department to carefully review and strengthen our procedures. We have increased security staffing and expanded training to create the safest and most spirited experience possible. We have also put into place the following ticket sales/admittance rules on a trial basis. If circumstances warrant future action, HF will communicate those with the community. Read the ticketing rules here.

Homecoming is kicking off Monday with a full Spirit Week of activities and happenings to showcase the Viking school spirit. Please take note of the schedule changes and don't forget to participate in the daily fun: September 15th, 16th, and 17th will be Block Days. September 18th and 19th will be Viking Days. The Homecoming Pep Assembly will be on Thursday, September 18th with Friday, September 19th as the weather-related alternative date.

It’s a blast from the past! Wear your best throwback gear from the eighties and nineties.

Who will collect the most wristbands of the day? Play rock, paper, scissors against your teachers and friends! Student Government members and teachers will be given special Homecoming wristbands--you can challenge any other student or staff member.

Find your cowboy hat, those polo shirts, and put them boots on the ground! It’s country vs. country club day, so show up and show out HF!

Show your school spirit today! Freshmen and Juniors wear red, Sophomores and Seniors wear white. Staff, wear red & white.

A new bombshell has entered the villa! Dress up as our homecoming theme, with vacation and beach wear! *must be school appropriate*

Vikings are about to set sail: "Seas the Night" Homecoming Dance is happening on Saturday, September 20th at 7:30 p.m. in the North Gym. Tickets are $25 per person (plus service charge) and are on sale through tomorrow, September 12th.

Are you a former Marching Viking? We want to see you at the 2nd Annual HF Band Alumni Reunion happening on Homecoming Night, Friday, September 19th. P.S. Register early to guarantee your shirt! Get ready to march down memory lane with a night of music, camaraderie and celebration!

On this episode of Viking Scholars, we hear from Senior Bryce Barnett, whose passion for journalism led him to launch his podcast, "What's Bryce Talking About Now?" Now in its second season, the podcast features a three-part mini series on the story of Emmett Till, which garnered so much attention that Bryce had the opportunity to interact with Emmett Till's family and secure a summer job at the Chicago History Museum! Watch here and learn more about how Bryce is using podcasts to express himself and share important stories.

Quarterly incentives are a way to thank our students for being great examples of what it means to be a Viking day in and day out. As a reward for performing well academically, maintaining a low level of tardies and receiving zero demerits, past incentives have included a silent party, pancake breakfast and more. Mark your calendars for this year's incentives and do your best to be a part of them!

HF Theatre is excited to bring you "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Musical" as this year's Children's Play! Stay tuned for the full cast list and more. We hope to see you in the Auditorium on September 25th, 26th and 27th!
