Meet the school psychologist and speech-language pathologist! Ms. Schneider and Mrs. Schwerr

We are so lucky to have Ms. Schneider, our incredible school psychologist, and Mrs. Schwerr, our dedicated speech-language pathologist, as part of our Caruso Middle School family. These two amazing professionals play such an important role in supporting not only our students, but also the families and community members connected to our school. Their compassion, expertise, and commitment shine through in everything they do—from helping students navigate challenges to empowering them with the tools they need to grow and thrive.

One of Mrs. Schwerr’s favorite hobbies are hiking, she loves being outdoors and staying active. If she could pack up and go anywhere, you'd probably find her relaxing in her favorite vacation spot: The Bahamas.

When Mrs. Schneider is not at CMS, she’s likely behind a camera, her favorite hobby is photography. She has a great eye for capturing the beauty in everyday moments. And when it’s time for a break, she loves to travel, with Europe being her go-to vacation destination.

Some After School Fun!

One of the best parts of middle school is discovering where you belong—and clubs are a great place to start. Whether you're reeling in memories with Fishing Club, competing side-by-side in E-Sports, or rounding the bases with the Softball team, getting involved helps students build friendships, confidence, and school pride. These photos capture more than just activities—they show the joy of connection, teamwork, and finding your thing. 💙🎮🎣🥎

Parents of 8th Grade Students!

Join us on Tuesday, April 29th, at 7:30 PM in the DHS Café for "Parenting a Smooth Transition to DHS." This informative program offers valuable insights into the transition from 8th grade to DHS, featuring perspectives from current DHS students, a freshman teacher, a guidance counselor, a parent, and Student Activities Director Brian Verisario.

Don't miss this opportunity to ease your concerns and gain helpful guidance as your child prepares for high school!

Attendance

If your student will not be in school, please report the absence to the health office by phone (847) 945-8430 x6103) or email (carusoattendance@dps109.org) before 8:00 am. If you do not contact our school nurse by this time, she will contact you at home or at work to ascertain your child’s whereabouts.
