Abiding Christian Assembly of God

• Food for residents of zion, winthrop harbor, wadsworth, or beach park

• Mon-Thurs 8am-12pm, first time visit will need an ID and proof of address.

Ingredients

• 1 ½ pounds (680g) potatoes, peeled and chopped, 4 cups
• 1 medium onion, chopped, 2 cups
• 2 medium carrots, chopped, 1 cup
• 2 stalks celery, chopped, 1 cup
• 1 tablespoon minced garlic, 3 to 4 cloves
• 3 tablespoons butter or olive oil
• 1 teaspoon chopped fresh rosemary or 1/4 teaspoon dried
• 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
• 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
• 4 cups chicken stock or vegetable broth
• 1 bay leaf
• Salt and fresh ground black pepper
• 1/4 cup cream, half and half, sour cream, or plain yogurt
• 1 cup (2 ounces) shredded cheese, optional
• For serving (optional): Chives or scallions, sour cream, crumbled cooked bacon, fried shallots, hot sauce
