To help ensure the safety of all students, we kindly ask that children remain in their vehicles during morning drop-off until the 8:20 a.m. bell rings and staff members are present outside to supervise.

Staff supervision begins at 8:20 a.m., and we want to make sure every student is accounted for and safe as they enter the building. Dropping students off prior to this time can create unsafe situations, as there are no adults available to monitor the arrival area.

We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe and orderly start to each school day. Thank you for partnering with us to keep all students safe!

Third Grade Slices Up Learning with a Pizza Transformation Third Grade Slices Up Learning with a Pizza Transformation

Students fully embraced their roles as “pizza chefs,” donning mustaches and chef hats as they got to work. With creativity and excitement, they built their own “pizzas,” carefully dividing them into halves, thirds, fourths, and more—learning fraction concepts in a fun and memorable way.

SCE third grade classrooms recently turned into bustling pizzerias as students dove into the delicious world of fractions! Teachers brought learning to life by transforming their spaces with classic red-and-white checkered tablecloths, creating the perfect backdrop for a hands-on math experience.

Students fully embraced their roles as “pizza chefs,” donning mustaches and chef hats as they got to work. With creativity and excitement, they built their own “pizzas,” carefully dividing them into halves, thirds, fourths, and more—learning fraction concepts in a fun and memorable way.

The highlight of the experience can be seen in photos from Mrs. Burke’s class, where students are hard at work crafting their pizza fractions. Their focus, teamwork, and enthusiasm truly capture the spirit of this engaging lesson.

By blending creativity with curriculum, our third grade teachers provided an unforgettable learning opportunity proving that math really can be as easy as pie… or in this case, pizza!

April Attendance Nugget April Attendance Nugget

A day of missed school is a lost opportunity for social development. By coming to school everyday students are not sick, they are gaining social skills to help them on their path to success.

An educational infographic titled "APRIL attendance nugget" set against a textured gray background with a winding peach-colored path. The main text, written in a bold italicized font, reads: "A Day of missed school is a lost opportunity for social development. By coming to school every day they’re not sick, your child is gaining social skills to help them on their path to success." To the right of the text is a whimsical, AI-generated character: a cartoon chicken nugget with a chicken's face (complete with a red comb and orange beak). The character is anthropomorphic, wearing a professional navy blue suit, a purple striped tie, and carrying a brown leather briefcase while walking forward along the peach path.

Thinking about Staying Home from School?

Research Shows that students that miss 10 or more days a year are 20% less likely to graduate on time. Keep them on track for graduation by sending them to school when they are not sick.
