We are pleased to share that your child's Spring progress report is now available in the Parent Portal.

Please note that this report card represents a mid-semester snapshot of your child's academic progress and does not reflect final grades. Teachers will continue to update grades and provide feedback throughout the remainder of the year as learning continues.

We encourage you to review the report card with your child, celebrate their accomplishments, and discuss any areas where additional support may be helpful. Ongoing communication among families, students, and teachers is an important part of supporting student success.

If you have questions or concerns about your child's progress, please don't hesitate to contact your child’s teacher or school administration. We are committed to partnering with you to support your child's growth and learning.

Directions for accessing grades in the Parent Portal are on page 23 of the Grading and Reporting Handbook.

🦘6th Grade Goes "Down Under!" 🦘 🦘6th Grade Goes "Down Under!" 🦘

Feel the Rhythm: 6th Graders Explore Australia with Didgeridoo Down Under!

Our 6th-grade Bulldogs recently took an immersive journey into Australian culture through a high-energy performance by Didgeridoo Down Under. This unique experience served as a vibrant connection to their current studies in I&S classes, blending traditional music, art, and storytelling to bring their curriculum to life. Students were mesmerized by the intricate sounds of the didgeridoo and the powerful cultural history behind one of the world’s oldest woodwind instruments.

A huge thank you to our 6th-grade I&S Department for organizing this incredible opportunity for our students to engage with global history in such a dynamic, hands-on way! 🎶🇦🇺

🌍 French Club Exchange Students from France! 🌍 French Club Exchange Students from France!

Our Bulldogs recently had the incredible honor of hosting exchange students from Lycée Bossuet in Meaux, France. It was a fantastic evening of cultural exchange where our middle schoolers put their French skills to the test, embodying the IB learner profiles of open-mindedness and communication

Students engaged in meaningful conversations about music, family, and hobbies—all while introducing our guests to some classic American snacks! It was a truly unforgettable experience that brought their classroom learning to life.

Un Grand Merci to our dedicated educators who made this possible:

  • Mme Lindow for her expert organization of the meeting and activities.

  • Mme Carnathan (DHS) for her vision in coordinating this international exchange
  • Mme Nettleton for providing the refreshments that fueled our cross-cultural conversations.

PLASTIC FILM COLLECTION

As we approach Earth Day, the BHMS Recycling Club is leading a full-school participation in a contest to collect recyclable plastic film. The school that collects the most material will be recognized at the CHaRM Kids’ Day on Saturday, April 25, at CHaRM DeKalb. From now through April 16, a collection bin is set up in the front lobby for dropping off the following types of recyclable "stretchy" plastic: plastic grocery bags, plastic produce bags, bread bags, plastic overwrap (wrap around napkins, paper towels, toilet paper), bubble wrap and shrink wrap. These types of plastics are not accepted in the city recycling program, so join this effort to keep them out of the landfill!
