Well, our scholars have been doing quite well for the first couple of months of school; however, we need them to be able to do their BEST! Their best can't be achieved without a little assistance from our parents and guardians. Don't forget to help them do their very best by making sure that they get their rest by going to bed at an appropriate time, eating healthier meals and snacks, spending extra time studying, and arriving to school on time and prepared. All of these things, as well as a few words of encouragement each morning, will help our scholars to always do their very best! GO PATRIOTS!!
Our students will have a break from SSS lessons during the week of September 21. When we return for Week 8, students will begin learning about emotions and self-management. They will practice identifying their feelings, understanding how emotions can affect their choices and behavior, and using healthy ways to express and manage strong emotions. Families can support this learning by encouraging children to talk about how they feel and helping them practice calm, respectful ways to respond when emotions become strong.
September is Attendance Awareness Month! The LPES Counseling Department and Attendance Team would like to remind families about the importance of maintaining an exemplary attendance record. Help your child become an Attendance H.E.R.O.—Here Every Day, Ready to Learn, and On Time! Every school day matters, and consistent attendance helps students remain connected, confident, and successful.
October is National Bullying Prevention Month at LPES! Families are invited to help us celebrate kindness and unity by having students wear BLUE for #BeKind Day on Monday, October 5, and ORANGE for Unity Day on Wednesday, October 21. We will also celebrate Red Ribbon Spirit Week from October 26–30 with activities encouraging strong choices and strong character. Together, we can teach our Patriots to be kind, include others, and speak up safely against bullying!
Has your child experienced the loss of a parent, sibling, or close loved one? Camp MAGIK is offering a free healing camp for children and teens ages 6-18 who are coping with the death of a loved one. The camp provides professional grief counseling, peer support, and fun camp activities in a safe and supportive environment. The Fall 2026 session will be held October 2-4, 2026, in Clarkesville, GA. Applications are due September 21, 2026. Parent support opportunities are also available. For more information or to apply, visit Camp MAGIK or contact 404-790-0140. Transportation assistance may be available based on family need.
We are proud to bring back our partnership with Chris180, one of the area's premiere mental health, child welfare and family service organizations, in empowering families and helping children overcome difficulties they may face.
