A2 Virtual+ November Update
November 3rd, 2025
Principal Message
As we enter the 11th week of the school year, I want to thank you for encouraging your student to complete their Count Day activities and for your continued support in helping them submit their weekly attendance. We successfully counted 99.8% of our online enrollments, which ensures we can continue offering an online learning option for all students who are interested in this experience.
Your continued support in having students complete their weekly Wednesday attendance is not only a state requirement—it also helps maintain consistent communication between students and A2 Virtual+ staff.
This time of year also marks the start of registration season as we begin preparing for the second half of the school year. Registration for second semester opens today, and we encourage families interested in continuing online learning to register within the next two months.
Warm regards,
Principal Lauer

Lockdown Browsers
In the next few weeks, A2 Virtual+ will be piloting two different lockdown browsers to support our goal of creating more authentic testing environments for students.
The district is currently testing and installing this software on student devices. Once complete, students may notice slightly different screens when opening assessments or activities, but the content itself will remain the same.
Respondus Lockdown Browser will be used for Schoology and ALEKS assessments.
Proctorio will be used for Edgenuity assessments.
Once these browsers are active, students must complete assessments using their district-issued devices.
Registration for Semester 2 and Trimester 2 Classes
All students currently enrolled in an online course must register for the next class if they wish to continue online through the remainder of the school year.
Trimester 2 courses are only available to high school students at Skyline and Pathways, as these schools operate on a trimester schedule.
Trimester 2 registration deadline: December 5
Semester 2 registration deadline: January 30

Proctoring Information (Previously Shared)
To earn credit for each course, students must complete two proctored activities per class.
The names of the required activities are posted in each student’s Schoology classroom.
Proctoring schedules, locations, and sign-up links are available in the A2 Virtual+ Proctoring and Building Support Schoology classrooms.
For 5th-grade students, support is not building-specific since they come from more than 20 schools. All 5th graders will use the general “A2V Proctoring and Building Support” Schoology classroom.
Students must complete their proctored activities using their district device.
Additional Option:
Students may also attend proctoring at Skyline High School Media Center on Tuesday evenings, 4:00–7:00 PM.
No sign-up required.
Students arriving before 6:00 PM may complete their proctored activity.

Weekly Attendance (Previously Shared)
Attendance in online courses works differently than in traditional classes. In our program, attendance is defined as a weekly two-way interaction with the teacher, completed through a designated attendance activity in Schoology every Wednesday.
If a student does not complete the Wednesday activity, they are marked as UNV (Unverified Absence) in PowerSchool.
Students may still complete the activity later in the week (through Tuesday), but late submissions may affect their grade.
Once completed, teachers update attendance with a CA (Completed Attendance) code.
Attendance is recorded every week of the term.
