Kudos and Gratitude
Join us in celebrating the teachers and staff members at Omro High School for what they do to help make sure our students are engaged, challenged and inspired every day! Let us know if you have any "Kudos or Gratitude" for any of our high school staff by filling out the form below to share your positive thoughts and thanks for a job well done. We will share this information with teachers and staff members throughout the year. Your "Kudos and Gratitude" might also appear in our newsletter or Superintendent's Good News.
Thank you for helping us share our story!
Congratulations Fox Friday Winners For This Week!
Congratulations go out to the following students and staff member for being chosen as this week's Fox Friday winners, Dina, Blake and Liam, our staff member, Mrs. Ransom! Thank you for demonstrating the characteristics of the Fox Four and for being such great role models!!
Engineering Students Visit Road America
During a high school field trip to Road America in Plymouth, students had the opportunity to learn about engineering from Lunda Engineers at a live job site. They explored various career paths in construction, engineering, and motorsports, gaining a deeper understanding of what engineering entails. The students studied the structure and engineering of typical bridges, examining cross sections that highlighted concrete and steel girders, as well as slab span designs. They received detailed explanations about slab span bridges, falsework, and the process of sand jack release used to unload and remove falsework. Additionally, the students learned how to calculate the weight of concrete and how these calculations apply to the ongoing Road America project.
CESA 6 Leadership Conference
Mrs. Jentz and Mrs. Scovronski took a group of senior leaders to Cesa 6 on Wednesday for a leadership conference! Our students were involved in a day full of fun activities that sparked their inner leadership qualities and provided tools to guide them through tough moments with a strong forward-thinking mindset.
Top Sophomore Readers
Congratulations to the sophomore class Top Readers:
Lucy
Mackenzie
Dina
Bella
Sawyer
Skyler
These sophomores read the most books quarter two. Each day in Mrs. Miller's English 10 classes, students begin the class by reading from books they have chosen. Also, any spare time students are not working on classwork, they are able to read.
Now, for quarter three, the Book Challenge will be each of the English 10 classes in competition with one another. The class that has read the most books (by percentage) will win a prize. Hopefully a little healthy competition will motivate students to read even more.
Way to go, keep up the great reading!
Senior Student Attains Eagle Scout Rank
Senior Liam Forster has earned the rank of Eagle Scout, which is the highest
achievement in the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) Scouts BSA program.
Liam has been involved in scouts for over 11 years, and during this time has
demonstrated his hard work, dedication, and leadership skills. He earned a total of 46
merit badges, and for his Eagle Scout project, he and his volunteers painted and added
shelves to one of the large gathering spaces in the new Omro Community Center.
Earning the rank of Eagle Scout is an amazing achievement, and approximately
4% of Scouts earn this rank. Liam’s accomplishments reflect his commitment to
Scouting’s values.
Congratulations on this achievement!
Congratulations, Madelynn!
Madelynn placed 3rd at last night's FFA District 24 Discussion meet competition. The Discussion Meet Leadership Development Event allows participants to exchange ideas and information in an effort to solve a problem. It is an exercise in problem-solving using techniques of letting the participants discuss subjects, with the questions, answers and statements.
National Have Fun at Work Day!
While our staff always has fun at work, today was filled with two extra splashes of fun for middle and high school staff.
~ Fox In A Pocket ~ A total of 8 fox heads were laminated and given to staff (3 middle school, 5 high school). Those staff members placed them in their pocket. Throughout the day, staff will be asking other staff if they have a fox in their pocket; if they do, it must be handed over. Any staff with a fox in their pocket at the end of the day can exchange it for a prize.
~ Find A Fox ~ There were mini fox figurines hidden throughout the building (12 for middle school, 20 for high school). When a figurine is found, staff can exchange it for a prize.
Special thanks goes to the organizers of this fun activity! This is one of many strategies that support a positive culture.
