WD40 Speech and Debate
A Stoa Speech and Debate Club
Stoa - Speaking Boldly and Changing the World for Christ
Stoa is a speech and debate league that serves the privately-educated, Christian homeschool community ages 12 - 18. Founded in 2009, Stoa teaches students to communicate effectively to share a Biblical worldview. Local clubs work to grow skills within a supportive, Christ-centered community.

WD40 - A Stoa club serving the greater Denver Metro area
WD40 (West Denver 40) started as a single campus in 2017 and has since expanded to several locations to include Brighton, Littleton, and Parker. We are one club, maintaining unity and prioritizing service above self. We desire not to be served, but to serve (Matt 20:28). With humility we consider one another as more important than ourselves (Phil 2:3). Our priority is for parents and students to serve one another through the activity of speech and debate, which provides excellent opportunities for character development through discipleship. Speech and debate also cultivates winsome speaking, critical thinking, listening with discernment, and gracious, confident debate. We act such that homeschool families in the Denver metro area have reasonable access to a Stoa club.
WD40 Distinctives
WD40 is a volunteer, parent-organized group. Some of our distinctives include:
- WD40 values discipleship above winning.
- Parents remain at club with their students, growing in knowledge and eventually serving as parent-coaches, mentors and leaders.
- WD40 offers a junior club that is open only to siblings of varsity students. Varsity students are age 12 by October 1st. Siblings of varsity students eligible for junior club are age 6 by October 1st.
- WD40 does not offer "debate only." All students participate in speech. Debate is encouraged but optional.
- WD40 students partner in debate with their fellow WD40 teammates. Outside-of-club partnerships are not permitted.
- WD40 is a self-organized group of families with a head coach and a board that leads and maintains the club.
- Parents and students maintain a faithful commitment to the club--attending each week, actively participating, and regularly serving.
