Aspire+ Testing for Sophomores
April 24th - May 2nd
We are administering the Aspire Plus Test to all Sophomore students from April 24th - May 2nd. This is an end of level test on the Utah State Core Standards and Objectives. It also serves as a predictor/preparatory test for the ACT Test. Students will need to have their charged Chromebook & charger, a writing utensil for scratch work, and a calculator if wanted. There will be a calculator available on the testing software during the math section if interested.
Testing will take place during the school day. There are 3 sections of the test. Reading, Mathematics, and Science. Students will complete the Reading section in their English classes. Students will complete the Math and Science sections in their Math classes. If students do not have Math or English classes, they should have received an email with an alternate testing location, date, and time. If students miss the class period when the test is administered, they will be pulled out of classes until the section is complete. These make-up test sessions will take place from May 5th - 9th. Our goal is to have every sophomore student complete all 3 sections of this test.
The test will be administered on a Chromebook. If you would like to take a tutorial of the TestNav software or take practice tests, follow the links below. You do not need to login to the practice test site, just click on the practice test option. The testing software allows students to have the questions read to them if desired. If students want to use this feature, they should bring their own headphones. If students want to use headphones, but do not have their own, please communicate those needs to Mrs. Christensen and we will make sure to have some available. These requests need to be communicated by Wednesday, April 23rd to ensure enough time to make the necessary arrangements.
Practice Tests - These are grade level questions where students can interact with the testing platform and experience sample questions.
Electronics of any kind will not be permitted during the test session. This includes cell phones, smart watches, and fitness bands. We encourage all of our students to get a good night’s rest before testing and eat a wholesome breakfast in the morning.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Mrs. Christensen at jaime.christensen@nebo.edu.
Good luck to our Sophomores!

SFHS Teacher of the Year - Kalee Adams
Congratulations, Kalee!
Principal Recommendation for Kalee:
Kalee is an exceptional teacher who truly goes above and beyond for her students. Last year, she came to me with an idea that she wanted to get her dog, Finnigan, trained to be an emotional support animal for her students. This new strategy has helped her provide support for her students. Her passion for teaching and advocating for her students is truly inspiring. Not only does she educate her special education students, she also is committed to helping the peer tutors in her class understand their important and impactful role. Kalee is an invaluable member of our faculty and a pillar of our school community. She teaches with unwavering dedication, treating each student as if they were her own. Her commitment to student success is evident in the way she consistently goes above and beyond to create opportunities that support their growth. Kalee’s patience and kindness never waver, regardless of the circumstance. Through her leadership and compassion, she has fostered an inclusive and supportive culture that enriches our entire school. Her impact is truly unmatched.
