September 2026 Edition
Dear Families,
This year will be filled with exciting opportunities for students in our classes. Students will have the chance to show what they are learning through a number of different projects and events throughout this school year. Your support is critical to the success of your student and we are looking forward to working with you as team to support your student.
Seventh Grade
Seventh grade science classes begin the year learning more about how circulation of the Earth's air impacts the environment. We will learn more about topics such as convection currents, weather, and air masses. We hope to become guest weather contributors on our local news channel. Be on the lookout for when to tune in!
Seventh Grade
Seventh graders are beginning their exploration of ancient Greece. We will learn more about what every day life was like for citizens of cities such as Athens. Students will explore the inventions and innovations that we still benefit from today. A focus on primary and secondary sources will a large part of the learning for this unit.
We are also staying current on events that are happening in our world around us. Students are required to complete a weekly current event. For this assignment, they choose the article they would like to read and then complete the Form with questions.
Sixth Grade
Sixth graders have started this year with a focus on cartography. We are learning about a variety of maps and their uses. Students are enjoying making connections between the maps and places they have been or would like to go.
We are also staying current on events that are happening in our world around us. Students are required to complete a weekly current event. For this assignment, they choose the article they would like to read and then complete the Form with questions.
True2U
True2U is a volunteer mentoring program that helps Cleveland Metropolitan School District eighth graders explore their true selves and prepare to make the most of high school as the first step on the path to college and career readiness.
Students have completed their experience with the True2U mentors. We want to give a big shout out to the awesome volunteers that visited us weekly to help students learn more about themselves... THANK YOU!
