Dear Families,

I hope you are enjoying your weekend - more picture-perfect fall weather! We are very excited for Open House tomorrow evening (Monday, September 26th) from 6:00-8:00 pm and hope to see you there! Our teachers are very excited to welcome you into their classrooms, and our students have so much to share with you about their days at school. Please see below for helpful information about the weeks ahead:

Parent Council’s Raffle Baskets are always an exciting part of Open House! Basket donations are a huge help - if you would be interested in donating a basket, please find info here: Raffle baskets.

Picture Day is this Friday, September 30th!

The WHS Cheerleaders are excited to offer their fun, “Cheer with the Wildcats” event on October 1st from 4-7. Info can be found here: Cheer Flyer

Our students are loving the new Gaga Ball Pit! We are so grateful to Meg and Tom Melanson for their incredible efforts to bring this fun game to Wessagusset!

Pond Meadow Park’s Pumpkinfest is back! This will be a fun fall day of family events on October 22nd from 11am-4pm. Details can be found here: PMP Pumpkinfest

5th Grade Band Information: Instruments should be picked up tomorrow evening at Maria Weston Chapman. Important info can be found here: 5th Grade Band Reminder

Looking ahead to October:
No School on Monday, October 10th - Columbus/Indigenous' Peoples Day
Half-day on Tuesday, October 11th - Dismissal at 11:50 am

We want to give a Wessagusset Staff Shout-Out to Mr. Santa, our awesome custodian! You will see much of his hard work tomorrow night at Open House. Mr. Santa is always friendly, calm, and willing to help - he is a valued member of the Wess team!

Parent Council Corner

There are many ways you can give back to Wessagusset all year. Wessagusset is registered with Amazon Smiles and Box Tops. To support Box Tops, download the app for free and set up an account. Once your account is set up all you have to do is scan your receipts and your box tops are automatically logged. Fo Amazon Smiles please go to smile.amazon.com and select Wessagusset Primary School Parent Council as your charity and a percentage of your orders will be sent to Wessagusset. Please spread the word to friends and relatives!

Last call for Raffle Baskets for Open House on 9/26/22! No basket is too small and can be donated right up until the event.

If you are willing to teach / lead an afterschool club please contact Chrissy Oliver at ceastman73@gmail.com NOTE: you will need to be fingerprinted and have updated CORI on file but the costs associated with fingerprinting will be reimbursed to you by Parent Council.

We are looking for two or more families to stock the teachers lounge each month. Volunteers will be responsible for purchasing and delivering snacks and / or drinks to the school for the teachers and staff to enjoy all month long. Snack / food should be delivered during the first week of the month and drop off should be coordinated with the front office staff. Don’t forget to attend our next Parent Council meeting. Wednesday 10/5/22 6:30PM. The meeting will be in person and take place in the Wessagusset Library. Child care will be provided. A ZOOM link will be provided at a later date for those who cannot attend in person
