ATTENTION CURRENT Seniors!!!
Please join the Class of 2027 Band group! This is the #1 way that Mrs. Busey, the senior class sponsor, will communicate with you as seniors.
Please contact Mrs. Busey at emily.busey@edmondschools.net if you have questions!
Senior Class Visit
Recently, our counselors visited the Senior English classes to discuss important topics as students prepare for life after high school. The conversation included senior year expectations, planning for life after graduation, applying to colleges, exploring opportunities through Francis Tuttle, and how to request a transcript. Attached is the slideshow presentation with the information shared during the visit for students and families to review.
The 2027-2028 FAFSA is open!
The 2027-28 FAFSA application is now available to complete at FAFSA.gov. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA, is your first stop in applying for federal and state financial aid to help cover college expenses.
FAFSA completion is a graduation requirement for all 2027 seniors in Oklahoma.
Before you can access the FAFSA online, the student and at least one parent or guardians must create their own StudentAid.gov account. This is simply a username and password that you set up to sign the FAFSA electronically. For assistance with the FAFSA, You can also visit the EPS FAFSA Resources website for helpful guides for navigating the FAFSA process, answers to frequently asked questions, and a quick guide to completing the FAFSA in 5 simple steps. To contact Federal Student Aid with additional questions, please call 1-800-433-3243.

OSU Concurrent
OSU concurrent enrollment gives juniors and seniors the opportunity to earn college credit while still in high school at an affordable rate. Students may participate through Cowboy Concurrent Online. Eligible Oklahoma students may receive tuition waivers (with seniors eligible for up to 18 credit hours and juniors up to 9), and out-of-state students can enroll in online concurrent courses at a reduced rate of $300 per credit hour.
Students can choose from a wide range of general education and introductory courses that apply toward future degree requirements and provide an early start on college-level coursework.
Now Open! The OU Concurrent Enrollment Application
Encourage your juniors and seniors to get ahead on their college career by applying for OU Concurrent Enrollment!
The University of Oklahoma’s Concurrent Enrollment (CE) program is a great opportunity for your students to get a head start on earning college credit before graduation. With both on-campus and virtual class options, students have the flexibility to choose courses that work best for their schedule and academic goals.

Planning to visit a university or college?
How to plan a College Campus Visit
Juniors and Seniors are allowed (4) days for college visits each year. In order for these days to not be counted against attendance students must provide documentation of the visit.
On the morning of the day of the visit, a parent should email or call the absence to the EMHS attendance office, send and email or phone: 405-340-2861. After attending the student must provide documentation of the visit to attendance.
Regarding proof of the visit: The student will need to forward to attendance via email. The college letter received after the visit (this does not include a pamphlet or itinerary, etc., and does not include a confirmation of a scheduled visit stating “we are looking forward to your visit”). The college may send a follow-up email or survey or provide a letter regarding the visit (“we enjoyed having you on campus“). If the college doesn’t supply anything or email a “thank you for your visit“, the student may contact the college’s Admissions Office to FAX the letter to us at 405-330-7355 or email the letter.

PREPPING FOR COLLEGE
Paying for College Cheat Sheet
FINANCIAL AID
Financial aid refers to the scholarships, grants, and loans that help a student pay for college.
GRANT VS LOANS
Grants are gifts. Loans must be repaid.
Federal and state grant amounts are determined by the FAFSA (see below). You may also receive a grant from an organization.
Stafford loans are offered to students who file the FAFSA. Subsidized loans do not accrue interest until the student stops going to school. Unsubsidized loans start accruing interest when you start school, like most loans.
Parent Plus Loans: studentaid.gov
Alternative Education Loans: https://finaid.org/loans/privatestudentloans/
Scholarships
Scholarships are gifts that do not have to be repaid. You may be offered scholarships from a college or organization.
FAFSA
This is the only way colleges can award you state/federal grants and Stafford loans, so it is recommended that you and your family take the time to complete the FAFSA. The FAFSA takes into considerate household income in order to determine your aid.
Needing a Transcript?
Need a copy of your transcript? Students can request and send transcripts through Parchment.com.
A Few Important Tips
Use your full legal name when creating your Parchment account. Your name should match the name on your school enrollment records.
Use a personal email address rather than your school email address. This will ensure you can continue to access your Parchment account after graduation.
Remember your login information! You will need your Parchment account when you graduate to order your final transcript.
Need help with Parchment? School officials are unable to troubleshoot Parchment account or ordering issues. Please contact Parchment directly for assistance.
Parchment Support: 847-716-3005 or membersupport@parchment.com
Parchment also provides helpful “How To” videos on its website to guide you through the transcript-ordering process.
Tip: Take a moment to save your Parchment login information somewhere secure. You’ll need it again when you request your final transcript after graduation.
