Hello Art City Parents/Guardians and Students,

Safety is a priority at Art City always. We just wanted to give you an update on safety reminders and precautions we can all take. Please make sure your student knows how they are getting to and home from school, remind them to stick to the plans and talk to them about strangers! All of our exterior doors are automatically locked. Our front entry to the hallways lock at 8:45. At this time all visitors are required to check in the office and have to gain access to the hallways by permission/unlocking the doors. We also have two staff members who are Guardians for our school. They are here from bell to bell to ensure the safety/protection of students in case of any unsafe entries.

La seguridad siempre es una prioridad en Art City. Solo queríamos informarles sobre los recordatorios de seguridad y las precauciones que todos podemos tomar. Por favor, asegúrense de que sus estudiantes sepan cómo llegar y regresar de la escuela, recuérdenles que cumplan con los planes y ¡háblenles sobre las visitas a desconocidos! *Please complete your donations to the school. You can do this online through your iCampus parent portal or by stopping in the office. This donations money is given to teachers and school staff to be able to purchase consumable materials for instructional needs and other materials for class/grade parties and activities as well as field trips. We suggest $25 dollars. Thanks for your continued support.

Our school opens at 8:15 for breakfast. Students can come into the lobby to access the cafeteria for breakfast. If they are not eating breakfast, they can see the stop light by the cafeteria door. If it is Green(go outside), if it is Yellow(Choose to stay inside lobby or go outside), if it is Red(Stay inside the lobby). At 8:35 our first bell rings to signal to students that they can start heading to their classrooms. At 8:40 our second bell rings to signal to student they have to head to class to not be late. At 8:45 our third bell rings signaling the start of the school day!

Nuestra escuela abre a las 8:15 para el desayuno. Los estudiantes pueden entrar al vestíbulo para acceder a la cafetería y desayunar. Si no están desayunando, pueden ver el semáforo junto a la puerta de la cafetería. Si está verde (salgan), si está amarillo (pueden quedarse dentro del vestíbulo o salir), si está rojo (permanezcan dentro del vestíbulo). A las 8:35 suena el primer timbre para indicarles a los estudiantes que pueden ir a sus aulas. A las 8:40 suena el segundo timbre para indicarles que deben ir a clase para no llegar tarde. A las 8:45 suena el tercer timbre, ¡lo que indica el inicio de la jornada escolar!

Nebo School District offers free hearing screenings for all kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, and 5th grade students each year. This year, those screenings at Art City will be held on Thursday, September 4th. It takes about 3-5 minutes. Students who are absent that day will be screened within a week or two.

If for any reason your child does not pass this screening, he/she will be rescreened two weeks later. This is done because in many cases, on the day of the first screening, the child had fluid in the ears, congestion, excessive ear wax, etc. Many children who failed the initial screening go on to pass the second screening.

If, however, your child does not pass the second screening, we will let you know. If this is the case, it is recommended that your child receive a full evaluation, which is offered free of charge through the district.

El Distrito Escolar de Nebo ofrece exámenes de audición gratuitos cada año para todos los estudiantes de kínder, 1.º, 3.º y 5.º grado. Este año, las evaluaciones en Art City se realizarán el jueves 4 de septiembre. La evaluación dura de 3 a 5 minutos. Los estudiantes que falten ese día serán evaluados en una o dos semanas.

Si por alguna razón su hijo/a no aprueba esta evaluación, se le realizará una segunda evaluación dos semanas después. Esto se debe a que, en muchos casos, el día de la primera evaluación, el niño/a tenía líquido en los oídos, congestión, exceso de cerumen, etc. Muchos niños que no aprueban la evaluación inicial sí aprueban la segunda.

Sin embargo, si su hijo/a no aprueba la segunda evaluación, se lo informaremos. En ese caso, se recomienda que su hijo/a reciba una evaluación completa, la cual se ofrece gratuitamente a través del distrito.
