At Cherokee Trail we focus on six traits, teaching and fostering them in our classrooms and school-wide in order to create learners who are strong academically and socially.
They are:

ENTHUSIASM * PERSEVERANCE * INTEGRITY * COURAGE * EMPATHY * RESPECT

Read more on the EPICER page!

In September we will be focusing on ENTHUSIASM. Here are the student indicators:

* I show a positive attitude at all times

* I am eager to learn

* I show active engagement throughout my day

AT HOME: Ask your student "Show what you look like when you are enthusiastic."

THE PRINCIPAL CHRONICLES THE PRINCIPAL CHRONICLES

JOSH MILLER

The Principal Chronicles continue ...

With Summer weather still hanging on, it makes things so nice around school. Duty is nice outside, recess is nice outside, and it is so pleasant inside. I'm sure here in a few weeks we are going to get blasted with some cold weather to make all of the above miserable, but for now, it is super nice. Here at school, things are going great. Tonight I will be attending the school board meeting to showcase our school getting our RAMP certification. Our RAMP certification is centered around our wonderful school counselors, and essentially means we are a model school for counseling, and there are very few in our District and State. I am so very proud of Mrs. Steiner and Mrs. Hermann. Make sure to look at Erin Kane's state of the District email this Friday for some photos of us (if I only had a good side for photos).

On the home front, it was my Dad's birthday last weekend. My parents live in Fort Collins, so I used the opportunity to hang out with the little munchkin for the afternoon to see how she was doing. Turns out that she is doing great and really thriving in college. She was so happy and bubbly, I actually teared up a little bit. Not only that, the shocker on top of all shockers was that her room was actually clean, not like picked up, but actually clean. I am not sure if the Red Sea parted or if some other divine intervention happened, but either way, I couldn't believe it. It was fun to see her for a few hours and listen to all of her stories. Next weekend starts rush, so we will see how that plays out.

That is it for this weeks episode, stay tuned for next week when the Principal Chronicles continue ...
