๐๐ A Message to Our Valley View Families ๐๐
Dear Valley View Families,
We want to take a moment to thank you for your continued support with student attendance! ๐๐ As you can see below, our students are thriving, and we love having them here at school each day, learning, growing, and connecting with their teachers and classmates. Your cooperation and involvement make a tremendous difference, and we truly appreciate your partnership! ๐๐
๐ Arrival & Dismissal Procedures
We have had some great conversations with our families about ways we can continue improving our arrival and dismissal procedures. As the school year progresses, we will continue to establish and strengthen safety measures to help ensure the safety of all students, staff, and families. Thank you for your patience, cooperation, and partnership as we work together to make these routines as safe and efficient as possible.
๐ Welcome, October!
As we enter October, be sure to check out the exciting events, Spirit Weeks, and opportunities happening on campus! ๐ We love having our families involved and look forward to seeing you throughout the month.
Thank you for being such an important part of our Viking Community! ๐๐

๐ Understanding Chronic Absenteeism ๐
Hi Viking families! ๐
We know life can get busy, but coming to school regularly is super important for your childโs learning and success. ๐ซโจ
What is Chronic Absenteeism?
Chronic absenteeism means a student misses 10% or more of the school yearโthatโs about 2 days per month or 18 days in a year. ๐
Missing school can make it harder for students to keep up with lessons, build friendships, and feel confident in class. ๐
Tips to Improve Attendance:
โ
Set a consistent bedtime โ kids need enough sleep to be ready for school. ๐๏ธ
โ
Plan morning routines โ pack backpacks and lunches the night before. ๐๐ฅช
โ
Schedule appointments wisely โ try to make doctor or dentist visits outside of school hours. ๐ฉบ
โ
Talk about the importance of school โ celebrate attendance and learning milestones! ๐
โ
Reach out if needed โ if your child is struggling with illness, transportation, or anxiety, let the school know. Weโre here to help! ๐ค
Remember: Every day counts! ๐ Coming to school regularly helps your child succeed and feel confident. ๐ช๐
Congratulations to 2nd Grade with the lowest Chronic Absenteeism 2.2%!!!๐๐
