Dear BCJ Families 🏫🖤💛

Welcome back! I hope you all had a restful and enjoyable Spring Break filled with time to recharge and connect with loved ones.

As we return, we are officially entering the 4th quarter, the final stretch of the 2025–2026 school year. This is an exciting and important time for our students as they continue to build on the progress they’ve made throughout the year. Students in grades 3–5 will soon begin their Grade Level Assessments, and we also look forward to several upcoming concerts and school events that will showcase our students’ talents and hard work.

We encourage you to take time to celebrate your child’s growth and achievements, both big and small. Your encouragement, support, and involvement make a tremendous difference in their confidence and success. Whether it’s mastering a new skill, improving in a subject, or demonstrating positive character, every step forward is worth recognizing.

We are also excited to announce that we have selected our winners for the Parent-Teacher Conference Raffle. Congratulations to all of our winners, and thank you to everyone who participated!

Thank you for your continued partnership and commitment to your child’s education. Together, we will finish this school year strong.

There is NO SCHOOL on Thursday April 9 or on Friday, April 10. These dates are slated for planning and professional development.

It’s here! The first episode of From the Heart of U. City is now live!

Hosted by Superintendent Dr. Sharonica Hardin-Bartley, this new podcast shares meaningful conversations with the students, staff, and community members who make U. City so special. For the very first episode, UCHS junior and journalism student Journee Glasby turns the tables and interviews Dr. Hardin-Bartley! They talk about leadership, the importance of student voice, and the women who have inspired her in honor of Women’s History Month.

Listen now on PodBean or our website:

We can’t wait for you to tune in and for the many conversations to come!

Dear U City Families,

It’s that time again to complete the annual Panorama Survey. We value your feedback and encourage all families to participate. Please complete the survey for the school your child(ren) attend.

Click here to access the survey.

The deadline to submit your responses is April 17, 2026.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership!

Missouri State Law (Senate Bill 68) requires all public school districts to prohibit students from using or displaying personal electronic communication devices during the school day. This includes:

Cell phones
Smartwatches
Tablets and laptops
Wireless headphones or earbuds (like Beats Bluetooth/Wi-Fi headphones)

What this means in practice:
During the regular school day (from the first bell to dismissal), students generally must keep wireless headphones turned off and stored in a backpack or locker. They typically cannot be worn or visible in class, lunch, recess, or passing periods.

At BCJ, we truly value your time and want to ensure that every conversation with our administration team is thoughtful, focused, and productive. To help us serve you efficiently and minimize wait times, we kindly ask that families schedule an appointment in advance when requesting to meet with a member of the administrative team.

Please contact our Office Professional, Ms. Doyle, who will be happy to assist you in securing a convenient appointment time at 314-290-4361.

Thank you for your partnership and for helping us maintain an organized and supportive environment for all.

We are excited to partner with Right At School to provide high-quality before and after school care for the 2026–27 school year.

Right At School offers a safe, engaging, and enriching environment where students can participate in homework help, educational activities, creative projects, and structured play, all led by trained and caring staff. Their programs are designed to support working families while extending learning beyond the school day.

Families interested in enrolling for the upcoming school year are encouraged to visit the Right At School website to review program details, registration information, daily schedules, and tuition rates. Early registration is recommended to secure your child’s spot.
