The LMS Express
January 17, 2026
Hello all,
LMS teachers and students picked up after vacation right where we left off - with engaging activity in and out of the classroom. We all greatly appreciate the energy our students bring to school with them everyday - we are lucky to have such a great group of students!
School is closed on Monday to celebrate the life of Martin Luther King, Jr. On Friday morning's announcements, an LMS student shared a bit of information about Reverend King, and shared this quote of his "The time is always right to do what is right".
I hope everyone has a nice long weekend.
Be Well,
Tom

LMS Mural Lab In The News
The Valley News featured the LMS Mural project in the School Notes section. It's on page 2 of January 12th's edition.
Adam Sullivan from WCAX also spoke with some of our LMS artists that helped create the mural. You can see that story here: Lebanon middle school students add to downtown tunnel art installation.
The Lebanon School District Facilities team was instrumental in making this mural happen, and we appreciate their hard work and commitment to the students of LMS!

Drop Everything and Read Thursday
Mrs. Davis 8th Grade Science
Building and testing earthquake towers and learning about viscosity, magma and lava.
Mrs. Garnham's music class students treated teachers and students to a fantastic concert this week!
Fifth Grade Science
Students have been learning how the constellations we see in the night sky change with the seasons due to the Earth’s orbit around the Sun. We created constellations from each season in our classroom using materials such as marshmallows, toothpicks, and spaghetti. We will use these to turn our classroom into a model of the universe in a box on a bigger scale.
LMS Community Tree
The LMS Upstanders made sure students who received leaves for kind deeds were recognized. Students receive a leaf when they are witnessed going above and beyond for the school community. They then drop a marble in the tube at the front entrance. These are adding up towards a full-school reward for positive behavior!
Mrs. Sturtz Science Class
Seventh graders model the components of blood by making "blood soup", using corn syrup, marshmallows, rice, and red hots.
Mrs. Jones MSM3 Class
MSM3 students completed a transformation scavenger hunt and left no crumbs!
Egg-Mobiles
In Ms Rzemien's 6th grade science classes, students spent a week building "egg-mobiles" with the goal of protecting the egg during a ride down a ramp, into a wall. Students have been learning about forces, motion, and friction! As they were designing their egg-mobiles, they researched different ways they could improve upon their designs to best protect their egg. In the end, the designs were so successful that we had to increase the stakes and drop the mobiles from desks. FOR SCIENCE!
Reader’s theater reading in WIN!
Studying the Solar System
Mrs. Gagne's Science Classes took to the halls to learn about the size and distances of planets.
Mrs. Fraser's Advisory
In Advisory, we worked together to transport pencils as a group across the room. Different groups developed interesting strategies that expanded on the original descriptions. Go Team Fraser!
