Celebrating Corn House Traits of Unity and Collaboration
Rolla Elementary students gathered on Friday to celebrate Unity and Collaboration. Guest speakers Stacie Carlson and Jodi Hudson shared how they used these traits to bring the playground project to completion. They were able to answer student questions regarding how's and why's behind the scenes. Questions included answers with alot of math, such as:
How many bolts are in the structure (ALOT...hundreds/thousands?!)
Why are there black mats under the swings? How many hours per day/week did you put in? (ALOT!!) How did you decide on a model or design? DId you have any disagreements on the design (not really, but ALOT of thought went into the design). Did you have troubles with some of the parts? (short answer...Yes..but didn't stop/derail the project)
How many people collaborated on the entire project? (over 200!?)
We know the end result was a wonderful playground, but it was interesting to hear about the journey it took to get it done.
Stacie and Mrs. Hudson shared how working through any problems that came up, not giving up, working together and collaborating with lots of different people and organizations made the playground happen. The Elementary took a moment to give a Thank You to Stacie and Mrs.Hudson, presenting them with a framed photo of the playground in appreciation for all they've given to this vision!
Big BIG Bulldog Thanks to Stacie and Mrs. Hudson for their combined effort and leadership in bringing a community together to build a playground for all to use and grow on.
Congrats to our September Kids with Character
Big Bulldog Thanks for being great examples of how to help each other out and work together!
