Emily (Clark) Valovcin was a member of the WHS girls soccer and track teams for all four years

of high school, where she was Captain of both the indoor and outdoor teams as a senior. She

still holds the indoor and outdoor high jump, outdoor sprint medley, and heptathlon school

records. As a team player, she was a proud member of many successful relays that ran at the

MIAA Championship, New England Championship, and Nike National Championship meets.

Emily was a 5-time Bay State Conference All Star, setting school the record for most points in a

season during the spring of her senior year. That senior year, Emily had arguably the greatest

single season in school history, being named Bay State Conference Most Valuable Athlete, as

well as being named to the Boston Globe, Boston Herald, and Patriot Ledger All Scholastic

teams. After winning the Mass. State Track Coaches Association Girls Indoor Pentathlon and

qualifying for the Nike Indoor National Championship in the event (one of only 16 girls in the

country to do so), she followed that up with a victory in the MSTCA South Heptathlon in the

spring, posting one of the 10 best marks in Mass. history of 4259 points.

Emily graduated from Boston College in 2014 with a degree in nursing. She lives in Braintree

with her husband and three children, works as an adult cardiac nurse at Massachusetts General

Hospital, and still loves to run.
