AMERICAN LUNG CANCER SCREENING INITIATIVE
American Lung Cancer Screening Initiative (ALCSI), is a nonprofit organization of over 700 doctors and students working to raise awareness of lung cancer and lung cancer screening around the world (https://www.alcsi.org/).
We are excited to share that we are hosting our third annual Lung Cancer Innovation Summit, taking place from July 10-12, 2026, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA!
During this Summit, students will have opportunities to learn about lung cancer and advocacy from renowned physicians, patients, and residents through hands-on clinical teaching sessions and expert guest lectures from distinguished leaders in the field. Undergrad students, medical students, and faculty at leading institutions, including Harvard College and Harvard Medical School, will also offer college and medical school application workshops! For more information about the Summit, please visit the ALCSI Summit Page on our website.
Registration for the Summit is open to all middle school and high school students. Those interested in attending can register here!
Congressional App Challenge
This competition is nonpartisan and is official duty of all congressional offices who chose to participate.
The Congressional App Challenge is a competition aimed at encouraging middle and high school students to learn how to code by creating their own applications. The Challenge is intended to highlight the value of computer science and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education.
The House of Representatives knows how crucial these skills are and wants to encourage students to engage in these fields. By encouraging and recognizing our nation’s young programming talent, Congress hopes to shine a light on the growing importance of these skills.
This competition is open to all students who meet the eligibility requirements, regardless of coding experience. We strongly encourage students of all skill levels to participate, enabling them to learn how to create their own apps. Students are encouraged to register online and submit their apps by October 30th.
To learn more about the competition or to submit an app go to the CongressionalAppChallenge.us website.
This year, the Congressional App Challenge will open mid May, and close on October 26th at 12:00pm EST.
