Principal's Message
SES families,
Thank you to everyone who came out this week for our skating party! We have had two family events recently and it has been awesome seeing students bond, laugh, and connect outside of school! And, a huge thank you to our PTA for working hard to provide these opportunities for our families!
The weather has definitely changed! Please be sure you are sending students with coats as we will continue to go out for recess for as long as we can!
Have a great weekend everyone!

Body Safety Presentations
Dear Parents/ Guardians,
The Indiana General Assembly passed legislation regarding child abuse and child sexual abuse policies and instruction. According to the state law, all students, K-12, must receive education on child abuse and child sexual abuse by December 15th each year.
In accordance with this new legislation, Jessica Medeiros of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, Victim Assistance Unit will be presenting the Body Safety Program for our students in person on November 6th and 7th. This program teaches children to recognize and avoid sexual abuse. The program is adapted to the age level of the student. The presentation times vary depending on grade level, but are between 30 and 45 minutes in length. Following the presentations, the students in grades 2-5 will be given a simple questionnaire asking “Have you ever been touched on your private body parts for NO GOOD reason?” If a child answers “yes” to the question, they will have an opportunity to speak privately with a school social worker.
This Body Safety program is an important part of your child’s educational experience. We appreciate the support of caregivers at home. If you have questions or concerns, please contact our school social worker or principal.
