Corron Mission Statement
From the Principal
I hope you have been able to stay warm over the past week. Chicago area weather is always full of surprises no matter what the season!
Our first eLearning day was a success - I’m so proud of how engaged our students were. I heard from many teachers and parents that students got up early to get started and were excited to engage in all of their activities throughout the day. For the classes that did a Morning Meeting online, students were excited to see their classmates and show off their space at home. It was definitely a novelty for our students, most of whom weren’t in school for the pandemic. Hopefully this is our only eLearning day this year, but it’s good to know that we have a system in place that works should we find ourselves in this situation again.
Enjoy your weekend, and let’s hope the Groundhog is kind to us next week - we deserve it!

A note from the School Nurse
Cold and Flu season is upon us once again. Preventative measures remain the most effective way to reduce the spread of influenza and other viral illnesses. Please review healthy hygiene habits with your student, such as hand washing and keeping hands away from their nose/mouth while at school.
Absences from School
Report all absences to the attendance line. Please provide reason for absences and whether or not your child has a communicable or contagious illness.
Keep a child home from school when:
• Your child has had a fever of 100 degrees F or more within the past 24 hours
• Your child has had vomiting or diarrhea within the past 24 hours
• Your child has an unexplained rash, sore or pink eyes with a discharge
• Your child has a persistent, productive cough
** Your child must be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school
** If a bacterial infection has been diagnosed, your child must have 24 hours of antibiotics before returning to school
** If your child has not fully recovered or remained home for the recommended length of time, parents may be contacted and asked to take the child home.
Extended Absences: Extended absences of 5 or more days may require that the student present a doctor's statement of re-admittance to the school nurse. For further information on childhood illnesses and diseases please go to Health Information on the D303 website, or contact your school nurse directly at: cor-nurses@d303.org
