YouScience - After all, it’s ALL about YOU!!!! YouScience - After all, it’s ALL about YOU!!!!

In order to have your results, you must have completed the 11 “Brain Game” activities & can still easily do so if you haven’t. Simply log in to your YouScience account - see below for login instructions! If you’re not able to login, see Mr. Cowden @ the Eagle Center or send him an email.

Freshmen & Families: In mid-November, we introduced YouScience to all freshmen in Health classes & had students complete the “Brain Games” in order to have their results. Ask your student to share their results from completion of the "Brain Games" activities in the "Aptitude & Career Discovery" section. Your results offer valuable insights specific to you & your aptitudes; career pathways, exploration, help with resumes, applications, interviews, and provide words to describe your strengths.

Sophomores - Seniors (Classes of 2026-2028) & Families: Don't forget, you can still access & view your results or even still complete the YouScience “Brain Games” if you haven’t already! Simply login to either access your results or complete any of the activities that you have remaining in order to have your results.

Login Instructions for ALL: It’s easy to login in & all you need to do is click on the Google icon to login with Google Single Sign On, it uses your school district Google account login credentials. To access your account, scan the QR code or use this link: https://signin.youscience.com/.

Once logged in click on the "Aptitude & Career Discovery" tile and you’ll then be able to either review your results or complete the 11 activities in order to get your results. Your results offer valuable insights into career pathways, help with resumes, applications, interviews, and provide words to describe your strengths.

As always the fall and early winter months were filled with presentations for students/families, attending the annual college fair with over a hundred juniors and seniors, hosting another successful & well attended College Application Week (CAW) with 232 participants during the week. Numerous college reps presented and hosted application workshops as well as on the spot admissions events. The bi-annual Trades Career Expo in Canyonville was again attended with nearly thirty attendees from our CTE programs. We will also once again attend Careers in Gear this April and more information will be shared as we approach the spring months. Another fantastic opportunity and event recently attended by our students was the Healthcare Demo Days hosted by RCC on December 5th. During this event students were able to meet with, hear from and ask questions of folks from the industry and educational programs pertaining to eight various career fields within the healthcare industry.

A couple upcoming events to note: EPHS will be hosting folks from local businesses, industries and educational programs as a part of a tour hosted by Southern Oregon Regional Economic Development, Inc. (SOREDI) in coordination with SOESD (Southern Oregon Educational Service District) on Tuesday, January 6th. Those on the tour will have the opportunity to observe and tour our CTE programs, observe the students in action, as well interact with the students and teachers from the programs. This is a great opportunity to showcase and honor the extraordinary students and their work from these phenomenal EPHS programs, along with those that instruct and advise them. On Wednesday, January 7th EPHS will be hosting one of our community partners, Providence for their Healthcare Careers Explorer Event. This will be a no doubt be a valuable and noteworthy event and opportunity for the sophomore through senior students that are exploring, considering or planning for a career in a healthcare/medical field after high school. See below in this newsletter for more detailed information as well as a link to the Google Sign Up Form that will be open through Wednesday, December 17th. This will be a space limited event and 42 students have signed up to this point.

Speaking of upcoming events, there will be others from now through the end of the school year & these will be shared out via email, in our announcements & displayed on monitors at the Eagle Center as well as posted in these Career & College Newsletters. Many of these are open to all grade levels while others are open to specific grade levels. So please be sure to watch your email inbox for the Google Sign Up Forms for these events. The Google Sign Up Forms are typically shared out a couple weeks prior to the event!

These resources can also be found on the Eagle Center Canvas Page (access at the top of this newsletter). These are resources that can be useful for a student to using to explore, research and use as a possible starting point or reference to help guide them on the path that they choose for their post high school plan. Think of it as starting points but then connecting with your people as resources is most important for guidance, advice and conversation.

As we all know, staff & students will be out of school between 12/20 -1/4. This is a time to rest & recharge for sure, but possibly a time you might also be able to put towards some tasks that can normally be a challenge to find the time for - getting caught up on your classes, post high school plan & steps to take, etc.

For anyone able to do this, know that you're not without some resources for FAFSA, OSAC & OR Promise if needed & see below to find how easy it is to connect with the experts to help you!

OSAC During the Break

Students can reach out to OSAC for help with FAFSA/ORSAA and OSAC scholarship applications. The office will be closed on December 25 and January 1.
