Lower School Book Fair Questions Answered

We are excited to extend the invitation for grandparents to join us for devotion and the book fair September 14-17. Each day we will celebrate by inviting the grandparents of different grade levels. We wanted to take time to answer some of the questions we have received to help the week go as smoothly as possible.

What day should my grandparents come to school?

Monday, September 14th: Preschool and 2nd grade

Tuesday, September 15th: Kindergarten and 3rd grade

Wednesday, September 16th: 1st and 4th grades

Thursday, September 17th: 5th and 6th grades

What time should I arrive? Devotion starts at 7:55. All grandparents should come to the gym first.

Do I have to shop or can I just come to devotion?

Grandparents do not have to shop. We would love to have you come and see how we start each day at CCS whether you stay for the book fair or not.

What if I have multiple grandchildren?

Grandparents may come on any day assigned to one of their grandchildren. Grandparents may come for multiple days or choose just one. If a grandparent chooses to come just one day, they should take into consideration if one of the classes is having an extended presentation. If none of their grade levels are having an extended presentation then grandparents should come on the oldest student’s day.

How do I know if my grade level has an extended grandparent program?

You should contact your student’s teacher or see the classroom communication to find out this information.

Do you take cash, check, or card?

The book fair will take all three forms of payment. Students wishing to use a card must make an appointment with PTF. We do not want students or teachers asked to be responsible for debit/credit cards at school.

When will students shop that do not have grandparents as shopping buddies?

Students will have a shopping time each day. Monday all students with or without money will get to shop and make note of items they wish to purchase. The rest of the week, PTF members will escort and assist students that bring money with their purchases.

How much money should I send?

Books at the book fair start at $5.99 +tax and go up. There are also items like pencils and toys. Each family can make the decision of how much to send.

When and how should I send money?

Money should be in a baggie or envelope marked with the student’s name and the amount they are allowed to spend.

Students will have a shopping time each day. Students may bring money one day of the week or spread it out and shop each day. The book fair will take all three forms of payment. Students wishing to use a card must make an appointment with PTF. We do not want students or teachers asked to be responsible for debit/credit cards at school.

What if I still have questions?

Email Mrs. Candase at candase.wilkins@cullmanchristian.com.
