School volunteers play a vital role in our school community. They provide their time and talents to enhance our students' learning experience and staff working environment. At TMS, we are fortunate to have volunteers that do just that! Ms. Owens (pictured left), is our 24-25 Volunteer of the Year. She is a loyal volunteer in our media center and is a part of our PTSA board.

If you would like to volunteer at Teasley, contact yudy.soro@cherokeek12.net for end of year opportunities. We love our volunteers!

So, what's the big deal about Milestones?

Milestones assessments are important because results are used to assist schools determine how well students mastered standards in content areas. They are also used in conjunction with student’s grades when building student’s course schedule and placement for advanced classes in Middle School and/or Accelerated and Honors classes in High School (for 8th grade students).

During testing, it is extremely important that students take the time to read the questions in their entirety. There is no rush or incentive to finish first. Oftentimes, students rush through their answers and score many incorrect ones.

Talk to your student about taking his/her time to read the questions and if they have spare time, they can always go back and review their answers.

Parents and their students can access previous Milestones and Lexile scores (for the 23-24 school year) and set goals for the upcoming Milestones.
