The Chipmunk Chat
March 2-6

🌰 PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear MGES Families,
It’s an exciting time for UDHS athletics! We hope you have an opportunity to cheer on our girls as they compete in the District Championship on Sunday. The UD boys District basketball championship game last night was an nail biter, but a great win! It’s a great time to be a part of Upper Dublin!
Next week, we will celebrate Read Across America Week. Please be sure to check the Announcements section for information about our daily spirit themes. We have also included ideas for our upcoming Vocabulary Parade, which will take place on Thursday, May 5. The parade will occur during the school day inside the building, and we look forward to sharing photos and highlights with you in next week’s newsletter.
Some families may be receiving attendance letters in accordance with Pennsylvania Public School Code 24 P.S. §13-1327. These letters are required when a student reaches a specific number of unexcused absences and are intended to notify parents/guardians of attendance concerns and their responsibilities under state law. If you have any questions regarding these letters, please contact our attendance secretary, Mrs. Straface, at mgesattendance@udsd.org.
Our MG Science Fair will take place on March 12! Be sure to check out the QR code included in this newsletter for more information about participation and project guidelines. We are eager to view the innovative, creative, and thoughtful projects our students will showcase this year. It’s always a wonderful opportunity to celebrate curiosity and scientific thinking at MGES!
Best regards,
Mr. Perez

🏥 Health Office Information
Hi Chipmunk Families,
The season of illness is still upon us, and this time of year we tend to see an increase in strep, flu, and COVID cases. If your child is experiencing symptoms, please consider testing and notify the Health Office of any positive results so we can monitor trends and support our classrooms. Thank you for continuing to keep your children home when they are not feeling well as it truly helps protect our entire school community.
For your reference, I’ve attached our “When to Stay Home” guidelines along with the MGES Health Office Letter.
Be well, Chipmunks
