Dear Families,

WIth the Third Grade celebration in the books and Field Day on the schedule for tomorrow, there's no doubt about it, our year is coming to a close. Reflecting back on the whirlwind that is a school year is always a good feeling. From a pure learning and achievement standpoint, the data looks solid. Our kids are making some great progress in the areas of math, reading and writing. But of course, we all know there is much more to the Brown School experience than reading, writing and arithmetic.

At the Brown School, we firmly believe our kids can only thrive academically when the instruction is rooted in a culture of safety, respect, acceptance, and support. And, the same is true for our staff. We firmly believe when we work together to solve challenges that come our way, hold each other up, and trust we are all doing our best, we thrive. Thank you to our wonderful staff for every smile you gave to students arriving in the morning, for every email you sent, for every plan you made to address a specific learning issue, for trying, and trying again when despite your best efforts, the lesson or learning didn't land as you had hope, and thank you for your dedication and belief in the hopes and dreams of our students.

Thank you parents and families for every project, poster, and homework sheet you really didn't feel like making them do and for every time you told your child school is important... and to be kind and respectful to their teachers and friends, Your dedication and belief in your children's learning journey is wholeheartedly appreciated.

Many thanks to our incredibly thoughtful and PTO for every enrichment experience, every celebration and every teacher appreciation moment. We love your partnership and couldn't do it without you!

This is the Brown experience....teachers-staff-kids-families.. believing in the vision and in one another.

I am truly grateful.

Wishing you all a safe, healthy and happy summer!

Mary

Placement and Updating Aspen Placement and Updating Aspen

The Aspen system will go through its annual updating process this summer and then it will be your turn to update your child's information.

We will send you a reminder email in July to complete the updating.

We need you to update your child's information every year for a host of reasons:

  • Most importantly, in the event of an emergency, we need to be able to contact you via email, voice and text, and these need to be confirmed annually
  • Emergency contacts need to be current and verified for early dismissals for any reason (family events/pickups, illness and as well as emergencies)
  • For older students, Aspen must be updated for extra and co-curricular participation

Once Aspen is updated, you will be assured the opportunity to view your child's classroom placement in Aspen in August.
