Online Safety for Students and Families
"The Internet can be wonderful for kids. They can use it to research school reports, communicate with teachers and other kids, and play interactive games.
But online access also comes with risks, like inappropriate content, cyberbullying, and online predators. Using social media apps and websites where kids interact, predators may pose as a child or teen looking to make a new friend. They might prod the child to exchange personal information, such as address and phone number, or encourage kids to call them, seeing their phone number via caller ID.
Parents should be aware of what their kids see and hear online, who they meet, and what they share about themselves. Talk with your kids, use tools to protect them, and keep an eye on their activities."

Parents,

https://www.mclass.amplify.com/homeconnect/
Doors Open at 7:20am - Please Be on Time
Doors Open at 7:20am
Please make note that our doors open at 7:20am for scholars to enter.
Please do not drop scholars off before 7:20am, but please do try to have your scholar at school before 7:50am so they are here when the day starts.
Pick Up No Later than 2:35pm
If your child is a car rider-
Car riders need to be picked up no later than 2:35pm (dismissal begins after announcements at 2:03pm). If you arrive to school at 2:35pm or after, you will need to come into the school and sign your scholar out.
Before and After School Program
Before and After School Program
BeePurposely will have a before and after school program at PLA@103. Email them at beepurposely@gmail.com for more information (or call 317-418-7110).
WEEKLY CLASSROOM NEWSLETTERS!
Expect a Weekly Classroom Newsletter from Teachers-
This year, we are switching things up a bit at PLA@103. Instead of weekly Progress Reports, you will receive WEEKLY Classroom Newsletters (these may not come home the week that Midterm Reports come home)! These will inform you of weekly skills being taught, units of study, reminders, etc. Be sure to look for this to come home with your child on Fridays.
You will receive a MIDTERM Report approximately every 4 weeks this year. Report Cards will continue to come home every 9 weeks.
Do Not Pull Into the Bus Lane by the Sidewalk
All cars should pull up to the circle. NO CARS can be in the bus lane by the sidewalks at arrival and dismissal until all buses have been unloaded/loaded and departed.
Do not drop your scholar off on the other side of the street or in the back parking lot. Thank you for working with us on keeping our scholars safe.
Car Rider Procedures
Please Follow These Procedures to Keep Our Scholars Safe
MORNING DROP OFF
*Doors open at 7:20am
* Do not drop scholars off before 7:20am due to safety concerns.
* Do not drop scholars off anywhere but the circle drive (this means don't drop off across the street or in the back parking lot)
* Pull as far forward on the circle as possible; do not drop scholars off until you've
pulled up to where staff are directing you to go
* Encourage your scholar to exit the vehicle quickly and on the side of the sidewalk
* Stay in line. Dropping children off in the middle of the
circle drive is an extreme safety hazard that puts your child(ren) and others at risk.
* If you arrive after 8:15am, you must walk your child to the door and buzz to be let in.
Your child will be marked tardy.
* If you arrive at 10:30am or later, your scholar will not be admitted unless you
provide a written excuse from a medical professional. This will be an unexcused absence.
*The front sidewalk/curb IS NOT available as the pick-up line until all buses have been loaded and have departed.*
AFTERNOON DISMISSAL/PICK-UP
* If your child is walking home, they will not be dismissed until the buses have left.
* If your child is a car rider, you must be in the car rider line ON THE CIRCLE.
* There will be a staff member at the entrance to the circle drive.
You must stop and speak to them to give them your car rider number.
* Your child will not be dismissed from class until you've given your car rider number.
* DO NOT cut line. Your number will be skipped, and you'll end up waiting longer.
* DO NOT park and walk up to the building. STAY IN LINE and STAY IN YOUR CAR.
* We know the line looks long, but it moves fast when everyone
cooperates and follows the procedures.
* Stay in line. Do not encourage your child to walk into the parking lot.
This is an extreme safety issue.
* Encourage your child to enter the vehicle quickly so the line can move efficiently.
* Talk to your child about exiting the building quickly.
They are not to stop by other classrooms or hang around in the halls talking to friends. The entire car rider line is waiting on them to get outside and get in their car.
* Honking adds unnecessary noise and stress to the procedure. Please don't honk.
* Do not encourage your child to come to your vehicle if you are far back in line.
If you are changing the way your scholar gets home (permanently or temporarily) please call the office before 1:45pm (317-226-4103).
Scholars will not be dismissed early unless you arrive before 1:45pm. Please plan accordingly.
The office phones will not be answered after 1:45pm so that we may carry out safe and organized end-of-day and dismissal routines.
THANK YOU FOR FOLLOWING THESE PROCEDURES TO KEEP OUR SCHOLARS SAFE.
