Kia ora koutou Vogeltown whanau, welcome to the newsletter for Week 9 of Term 1.

We have had a great week at Vogeltown with a lot of learning and of course a sprinkling of Easter activities towards the end of the week.

On Monday we were very lucky to have a visit from our new principal - Mr Hunt and his whānau. It was great meeting Ryves in person and sharing our wonderful Vogeltown culture with them all. We cannot wait to have him join us on day 1 in Term 2.

Wednesday was an annual highlight for a huge group of our students who chose to participate in the Weetbix Tryathlon. Events like this are very special. Our students showed grit and determination during the race - a run along the sand, a big bike ride, and finishing with a run. I am sure you all enjoyed your day. A big thank you to Mr Ransfield for taking some photos. Tu meke!

We are now heading into our big Easter break. A reminder that our school is closed tomorrow - Good Friday, Easter Monday, and Easter Tuesday! We cannot wait to hear about all of the Easter adventures you have during this time.

Have a great Easter break.

Aroha nui,

Mrs Seed and the VS team

HOODS UP WEDNESDAY HOODS UP WEDNESDAY

On Wednesday 26th April (the last week of Term 1) we are asking everyone to wear a hoodie and wear the ‘hood up’. This is in support of Autism NZ. If you can provide a gold coin to support the great work that Autism NZ does, that would be awesome too! We are also going to participate in the hour of silence from 10am to 11am. Let’s hope we are all up for this challenge!

VOGELTOWN SCHOOL FEES/DONATION VOGELTOWN SCHOOL FEES/DONATION

zoom_out_map

A reminder to everyone that we do not ask for a school donation/fee at Vogeltown School. The Vogeltown Board opted in to the Ministry of Education donation scheme for 2024, which means we get paid a donation from the government and we do not ask families to contribute to any 'curriculum related' costs - including transport and events like Life Education.

More information can be found on the Ministry of Education's website.
