CH-UH City Schools Weekly Update
Staff Edition - August 21, 2026
Welcome Back!
Thank you, Tiger Nation staff, for making our first week with students a joyous success...
...and for making Convocation Day memorable.
District Theme For The 2027 & 2028 School Years: Belong. Believe. Achieve.
Tiger Nation has long been committed to developing school cultures around inclusivity, care, and student success, and these three words embody that ethos.
Staff should feel free to use the logo in communications and on gear; they can be downloaded here in various formats and colors. Additionally, please retire the use of old theme logos in communications (e.g. Heights United, Believe, etc.).
MAP Growth Testing Window Opens Monday
The fall MAP Growth testing window opens on Monday, August 24 and closes Friday, September 18.
Find key steps for what to do Before, During, and After testing, along with Frequently Asked Questions for each phase here. See the August 20 email from Becky McDonald for more details. Schedule a session with Becky to review your MAP data, plan next steps, or troubleshoot testing.
ClassDojo Updates for August 20, 2026
Each school's ClassDojo is now rostered. Teachers and staff in grades 1-12 should see their students and classrooms; preschool and kindergarten will populate next week. Families who were not already connected to ClassDojo have also received their invitations to join.
If you run into issues or have questions, please contact Cathan Cavanaugh or refer to ClassDojo’s FAQ here and this quick video for teachers to get started. You can also reach out to ClassDojo Support.
Attendance Data View Updated
Student attendance will continue to be a district-wide focus this year, as a major part of the CH-UH One Plan. The goal is to decrease chronic absenteeism by 3 percentage points from last year.

The District's Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a confidential and free resource designed to support you and your immediate family members with a wide range of services, including mental health counseling, legal and financial guidance, wellness and work-life balance resources, and personal and professional development programs. This program is available 24/7 and aims to support your well-being—both at work and at home.
If you know of any student in need of social and/or emotional support, please complete the referral form located in the Important Links section of their school's page on CHUH.org. Anyone can complete this referral form, and submissions are routed directly to the school social worker and counselors for follow-up.
Our “see something, say something” policy applies to our school community 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Anyone can access the Safe School Helpline to report threats, bullying, or other such behavior. Call 1-800-4-1-VOICE (1-800-418-6423) ext. 359 to leave your information, or submit a report online.
The District has adopted a plan for communications with persons with disabilities, which is available here. The plan establishes procedures to ensure that the District's communications with persons with disabilities, including applicants, participants, members of the public, and companions with disabilities, are as effective as its communications with others.
The Communications Department wants to share the wonderful classroom-based happenings with our community. If you would like to have a Communications Department member come to your school to gather photos and notes, please fill out this Google Form to book a date and time.
Families, staff, students and community members may use this form to offer their suggestions, feedback and comments to Superintendent Elizabeth Kirby, or ask questions. Unless you choose to provide contact information, your submission will remain anonymous.
