💗From the Counselors
On August 27th, the school counselors will introduce themselves and share a brief lesson titled “Meet the Counselor” with each grade level. This lesson will help students get to know them and learn the different ways the counselors can support them throughout the school year.
Then, during the week of September 8th, the counselors will return to classrooms to present a lesson on mental health awareness, focusing on the importance of emotional well-being and how students can seek help when they need it.
Parents and guardians are welcome to view upcoming counseling lessons by visiting the Hays Middle School website under the Counselor Tab. The counseling team looks forward to a great year of connection and support!

🎓 District Announcements
District Committee Opportunities
Prosper ISD's success is deeply rooted in the strong partnership between our students, parents, staff and community. To maximize the benefits of stakeholder input, we have established several committees for which interested individuals can apply. By submitting a single application, your name will be added to a pool of candidates for consideration by District leadership when filling committee positions. Fill out this application by Friday, August 29, 2025, if you are interested in serving on a committee.Technology
- Device Protection Plan
Prosper ISD is now offering a student device protection plan to all students 6th grade and up to help offset the cost of accidental damage to your school issued Chromebook. The device protection plan is available for $30 per year. For more info, click here.
- Multi-Factor Authentication
The district is implementing Multi-Factor Authentication using pictographs for all of our Middle and High School Students. During their first login, students will be prompted to select a pictograph. For verification, they will choose the same pictograph each time they log in. We will begin with Jones MS and Rock Hill HS on September 3rd, with the rest of the district to follow in the coming week.
Updated GPA and Class Rank Policy – Class of 2029
We want to make you aware of an update to Prosper ISD’s GPA and class rank policy, adopted in June 2025. While GPA calculations and class rank procedures will remain the same for your student’s graduating class, the following changes will apply to students in the Class of 2029:
To be eligible for valedictorian or salutatorian, a student must be continuously enrolled in Prosper ISD for all four years of high school and must graduate after exactly eight semesters of enrollment. We encourage all families to review the full EIC (LOCAL) policy on Prosper ISD's website for more details. If you have any please reach out to your child’s campus counselor.
Become a Mentor. Change a Life. - Join the Prosper ISD Mentorship Program
Are you looking for a meaningful way to give back to your community? The Prosper ISD Mentorship Program offers a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact in the life of a student—one conversation, one connection at a time.
We’re looking for caring, committed adults to serve as mentors to Prosper ISD students. You don’t need to be a counselor or expert—just someone willing to listen, encourage, and show up consistently. Mentors meet with students on campus during the school day in a structured, supportive environment.
As a mentor, you’ll help students feel seen, supported, and inspired to grow into the confident, resilient leaders of tomorrow. We provide all the training and tools—you bring your time and heart.
Volunteer mentors will:
✔ Meet with students monthly, during the school day, for 30 minutes
✔ Build positive relationships rooted in trust and respect
✔ Serve as role models and champions for student success
✔ Help students develop confidence, character, and connection
Your presence could be the difference that helps a student thrive.
Sign Up Today — More Information Coming Soon!
To be considered for a mentor role, all applicants must complete and pass a Prosper ISD background check.
Please note: Signing up does not guarantee placement. Mentors will be matched based on student need and compatibility.
