Prayers for the community of Tumbler Ridge

As a school and parish family, let us pray for the community of Tumbler Ridge.

Prince George Bishop Stephen Jensen has stated, "The most effective response we can offer for the intentions of the dead and the survivors, their families, the emergency responders, the parish community and town, is our own prayer and penance, which God has provided that we can use to address suffering and help bring mercy and healing to all.”

We pray for the souls of those who lost their lives, for healing for the injured, and for consolation for their family and friends. We pray for the community of Tumbler Ridge, for those who responded to the tragedy, and for those who are suffering. We also pray in a special way for the security of all schools and for God’s loving hand to protect us from such tragedies.

We ask, O Lord, that you comfort those families wounded by events in Tumbler Ridge, B.C.

Care for the souls who grieve and help us work for greater and lasting peace.
Help us to transform our own hearts, to turn from violence, and to seek peaceful ways of resolving differences.
Let our hands connect with those who feel alone, those who live in fear, and those who are suffering.
We ask this in the name of Jesus Your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, the Lord and giver of life. Amen
