1. Golden Bridges: Fostering Intergenerational Learning and Support

Golden Bridges aims to bridge the generational gap by fostering intergenerational learning and support networks. The project brings together seniors and younger generations to share knowledge, skills, and experiences, with the goal of enriching both groups. Seniors possess a wealth of life experience, while younger people often have advanced digital and technological skills. This project creates a space where both generations can collaborate and learn from each other.

Key activities include workshops where seniors teach traditional crafts, life skills, and cultural heritage, while younger participants offer training in digital tools, social media, and modern technology. This mutual exchange fosters respect and understanding across generations, countering age-related stereotypes and social isolation among seniors. By creating a network of intergenerational support, the project also aims to provide emotional benefits to participants through mentorship and collaboration.

Additionally, Golden Bridges strengthens community ties by organizing events that highlight the contributions of seniors to society and encourage a more inclusive, multi-generational social structure. The ultimate goal is to foster lifelong learning, social inclusion, and emotional well-being for seniors, while equipping younger generations with valuable life skills and a sense of social responsibility.

Through digital literacy workshops, seniors will learn how to use smartphones, computers, and the internet for communication, accessing public services, managing finances, and entertainment. The project also introduces seniors to online safety, teaching them how to avoid fraud, protect their personal data, and safely navigate social media.

SEDI will collaborate with local libraries, community centers, and volunteer organizations to ensure widespread participation. The project not only focuses on technical skills but also seeks to improve the quality of life for seniors by reducing social isolation through the use of digital tools to stay in touch with family and friends. By equipping older adults with these skills, SEDI fosters their independence, strengthens their role in the community, and reduces the age-related digital divide.
