🥳Dancing into 2025!! 🥳Dancing into 2025!!

Teachers and students at Whitehouse school kicked-off the holiday season with some festive fun!! We sure love to dance at WHS! On December 20, we held our annual winter PAJAM! Each year, during the dance, we "jam" to holiday music in our pajamas! Students also cheer on their grade-level classmates as they engage in mini-competitions like a football throw, ball toss, and hula hoop contest!

We also celebrated the New Year with another extravagant dance party during our first Town Hall Meeting of 2025. Our little Cubs of Character love bopping around to dance songs from different genres of music.

🎩Alice in Wonderland is coming to WHS!! 🎩Alice in Wonderland is coming to WHS!!

Hold onto your hats (and your teacups) because the Whitehouse School is hopping down the rabbit hole into the enchanting world of Alice in Wonderland! This year, our school-wide thematic unit invites students to immerse themselves in Lewis Carroll’s timeless tale. Over the next few months, our students will dive into Wonderland, listening to the classic story and making interdisciplinary connections that stretch their imaginations.

As shown in the pictures, teachers are reading four different versions of it.

Here’s what’s brewing at our tea party:

  • Story Synthesis Day (March 3): A day for our budding artists, writers, and thinkers to collaborate and create, blending the magic of Alice in Wonderland with their own ideas.
  • New Jersey Makers Day (March 21): A day of hands-on exploration where students can unleash their inner creators by designing and tinkering.
  • Drama/Storytelling Club Performances (March 27 & 28): Our talented performers will bring Alice in Wonderland to life.
  • Professional Theatre Performance (April 15): A visiting troupe will treat students to a spectacular show.

Our Alice and Wonderland thematic unit is not just a celebration of a classic story—it’s a chance for our students to explore, collaborate, and think critically in new and exciting ways. As the Cheshire Cat wisely said, “Imagination is the only weapon in the war against reality.”

Fairness Month

We are teaching the children to be fair during the month of January. Being fair simply means everyone gets what they need to succeed. Please partner with us and encourage your children to continue to show good character as they earn your permission to shade in pieces of their bucket-filler "Fairness"

puzzle!
