Principal's Message
As we move through the spring season, I want to take a moment to express sincere gratitude to the many staff members who continue to bring our school theme of Creating Connections to life through athletics, clubs, leadership opportunities, music festivals and the many experiences that happen beyond the classroom walls each day.
These connections matter deeply. They help students find belonging, build friendships, discover strengths, develop confidence, and feel connected to something larger than themselves. For many students, a team, club, or activity becomes the place where school feels a little smaller, relationships grow stronger, and memorable middle school experiences are made.
I also want to extend heartfelt appreciation to our community and parent volunteers who coach, sponsor, organize, drive, supervise, and cheer students on. Your generosity of time and care allows us to offer the wide range of opportunities that help make our school so vibrant. We simply could not provide many of these experiences without you.
To our students and families, I encourage involvement. Whether it is athletics, the arts, leadership, service, or clubs, there truly is something for everyone. Trying something new is often where new friendships, confidence, and connection begin.
Thank you to everyone who helps make our school community such a connected and caring place.
Falcon Pride,
Nina Ferguson

We are very excited to announce that we are running our "Bald Falcon" School Fundraiser again this year as we raise money for the B.C. Children's Hospital Foundation. This foundation supports the hospital in providing young patients with the treatment they need while also allowing the children's families to be with them during periods of long-term care.
On Friday May 29th, we will gather our entire school together for a special assembly to celebrate our cause as well as our students’ efforts. Some students will be choosing to raise money by fundraising locally, others will also be offering to "go bald" in an effort to raise awareness of this worthy cause. Some students will be donating 10+ inches of hair for the making of wigs for cancer patients.
Over the last 18 years, we have raised over $560,000 as a community!! Amazing!!
Participating students must return a signed permission form to take part. They return their signed form or pick up this form at our next meeting on Wednesday, April 29th at lunch in room 205.
We would LOVE involvement from our parents & guardians! You can get involved in various ways:
- If your child is participating, you can support them as they fundraise and/or prepare them to have their hair cut or shaved
- You can donate to one of the students or staff that are fundraising! Check out our donation page at tinyurl.com/baldfalcon (participant pages will start showing up at the beginning of May)
- If you or someone you know has a business that would be willing to donate prizes for participants, you can forward that information on to Amy Gunn at amy.gunn@sd23.bc.ca
If your student is participating this year, they need to bring their signed form back on Wednesday, April 29th.
We can't wait to watch students change the world as they fundraise for such a worthy cause! Go Falcons!!
