Month of August

August is recognized as National Civility Month, a time dedicated to promoting kindness, empathy, active listening, and respectful communication. It is an opportunity to remind ourselves that even when we disagree, we can choose to treat one another with dignity and respect.

Being Brahma Branded means choosing kindness over hostility, listening to understand, giving others the benefit of the doubt, and handling disagreements with maturity and respect. As we begin a new school year, letโ€™s make civility part of our Brahma identity. Be proud. Be respectful. Be kind. Be Brahma Branded.

Month of August

August is National Black Business Month, an opportunity to recognize, celebrate, and support Black-owned businesses and the entrepreneurs who contribute to communities across the United States. The observance highlights the history, resilience, innovation, and economic impact of Black entrepreneurs and business owners.

Being Brahma Branded means celebrating the diverse backgrounds, experiences, and contributions that make our community stronger. This month, we can honor Black entrepreneurship by learning about Black-owned businesses, recognizing their contributions, and supporting them in our communities.

August 26

Womenโ€™s Equality Day, observed on August 26, is an opportunity to recognize the achievements, contributions, and progress of women and to reflect on the ongoing work toward equality and opportunity for all. The observance commemorates the certification of the 19th Amendment, which granted women the constitutional right to vote in the United States.

Being Brahma Branded means celebrating the diverse voices, experiences, and contributions that make our community stronger. This Womenโ€™s Equality Day, we can honor the women who have paved the way before us, celebrate the women who lead and inspire us today, and empower the next generation of Brahmas to lead with confidence, purpose, and courage.

Mandatory E-Bike and E-Scooter Safety Training Mandatory E-Bike and E-Scooter Safety Training

Students who plan to ride an e-bike or e-scooter to or from school must complete the online e-bike and e-scooter safety and policy training. This training ensures students understand traffic laws, safety expectations, and the specific regulations related to e-bike and e-scooter use. The course covers key topics such as traffic laws and local ordinances, safe operation of e-bikes and e-scooters, and licensing and age requirements.

To register for the e-bike and e-scooter safety training, go to https://www.pedalace.com/wvusd and complete the self-enrollment process. You will need to provide your name, student ID number, and student WVUSD email address. After registering, you will receive instructions to begin the online training. When finished, PedalAce will send a completion certificate along with instructions for obtaining the WVUSD sticker for the studentโ€™s e-bike or e-scooter.

Students must place the WVUSD sticker on the handlebars of their e-bike or e-scooter and must wear a helmet while riding. E-bikes and e-scooters without the WVUSD completion sticker will not be permitted on campus.
