New: 'Absence Request' App!

A More Efficient Way to Communicate Student Absences via one APP

Parents and Guardians! Skip the email and phone call to the attendance office and get the App on your cellphone. There’s now an easier and more efficient way of reporting absences, tardies, and early dismissals. CLICK HERE for more information. Students will still be responsible for going to the main office to get an excused passed to class when parents excuse their late arrival to school and/or an excused pass for early dismissals. Getting a pass in advance for early dismissals will l help speed up the process later in the day.

Students in The Spotlight

Senior Stories Senior Stories

Senior Stories are a graduation requirement that ask students to reflect on their strengths, moments of growth and powerful learning experiences while also displaying meaningful artifacts and sharing their post-secondary plans. Here are some photos from last Thursday:

The day was a success and that wouldn’t have been possible without many hands, hours of labor and love, and collaboration. A huge shout out to Caitlyn Murphy, Chelsea Schonvisky, Sean Rogers, Beverly Burgos, Liz Kupiecki , Liz D’Auria, our secretaries and security team, the many point people who led senior stories, our custodial team, and of course our seniors who showed up and reiterated for many of us why we do what we do.

In Case You Missed It

Loss of Credit and Credit Recovery Opportunities

If a student has lost credit in a class, this means they have received a passing grade in the class but have lost credit due to accumulated absences. Students who have received a loss-of-credit letter, or who may lose credit by the end of the school year due to accumulated absences or tardies, have been informed that improving their attendance is required to be eligible for credit recovery.
  • Students in grades 9–11 may have the opportunity to recover credit during the summer if they demonstrate significant improvement in attendance by the end of the school year and pass the course.
  • Seniors who have developed a plan with their administrator and demonstrate improved attendance may be eligible for a credit recovery contract which must be completed with fidelity in order to participate in June graduation.
