GRADES: Exporting from Schoology & Importing into TAC
This document will walk you through exporting grades from Schoology and importing the grades into TAC. If you need one-on-one assistance to make sure you know how to export & import grades BEFORE THE NEXT GRADE PULL reach out to your campus DLS.
Google Tip of the Week
We would like EVERYONE to add a signature line in your district email (so we know which campus you work at). If you'd like to use the district approved campus signature line follow these steps:
- open the document for your campus below
- choose Edit - Select All (Ctrl + A)
- choose Edit - Copy (Ctrl + C)
- go to your email settings (the gear button in the top right corner of your email)
- on the General tab scroll down to the Signature section
- click Create New
- name your signature line (ex: my signature line)
- paste the information you copied into the text box (Ctrl + V)
- replace Firstname Lastname and Your Title with your information (do not change fonts, sizes, colors, links, etc.)
- change signature defaults: For New Emails Use and On Reply/Forward Use to what you named your signature line (ex: my signature line)
- scroll down and click Save Changes
- when you compose a new email your campus signature line will appear
Updating your Challenge Questions
This is important for two reasons. So if you forget your password you can...
- Reset your password yourself at Aldine Cloud
- The help desk will be able to assist you with a reset.
If you don't answer your challenge questions, then a work order will have to be submitted if you have forgotten your password.
You need to answer two pre-made questions and then create two of your own questions.
Log in (with your username; not your email address)
Go to Apps on the bottom
Click on Access Request Management System
Log in again (with your username; not your email address)
At this point, the challenge questions should automatically pop up if you need to answer them.
Resetting Student Passwords
Now that you are back on campus, you are now able to reset your student's passwords, no middle-man needed!!
Student passwords need to be at least 8 characters in length, and should contain 3 of the 4 following criteria:
- Upper Case Letter
- Lower Case Letter
- Number
- Special Character (!@#$%^&*)
In addition to the password criteria, the password cannot have the student/user name or be similar to the previous password (which is not specified on the screen). This triggers the LDAP error. Need a student password reset refresher? Check out the video below!
Are you using Snipping Tool?
Restart vs. Shutdown
Tech devices on campus not acting as they should? Chances are they need some updates after sitting dormant for 6 months!
Shut Down: closes all apps and turns off the PC. Your computer and Promethean Board should be Shut Down at least every Friday.
Restart: closes all apps, turns off the PC, and then turns it on again. Your computer and Promethean Board should be Restarted at least once a week in order to pull updates from the district.
You may need to restart your desktop computer and Promethean multiple times to get completely updated!
