Jazz Night is the Comal ISD Jazz Concert on March 7th at 6:30 pm at Pieper HS. All 5 high schools in the district are bringing their Jazz Bands. Tickets are $5, and they can be purchased here. All money collected goes towards scholarships. DHS students in the Jazz Band will wear all black. The uniform is not provided. Call time for DHS Jazz Band members is 5 pm on Tuesday at DHS. We will be providing transportation to and from the concert. Pickup from DHS is approximately 10 pm. Students participating in the Comal ISD All-Star Jazz Band will need to ride the activity bus and will be out of class 3rd-7th period on Tuesday.

The Comal ISD School Board called for a bond at their workshop on Wednesday, February 15, 2023. I encourage you to educate yourself and others regarding the bond, and I encourage everyone to vote. Information about the bond can be found by following the link below.

Proposition B will benefit the band and color guard by giving us additional seating in our stadium. Comal ISD residents will have the opportunity to vote in the bond election on Saturday, May 6, 2023. The deadline to register to vote is Thursday, April 6. Early voting begins April 24 and runs through May 2.

Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band will continue passing off music this week during class and sectionals. These will be quiz grades in the gradebook. Please notice there are 4 different tabs on the google sheet with pass off chunks and rosters to follow our progress.

Our Davenport HS Pre-UIL Concert has been reschedule from March 28th to March 23rd. Please mark your calendars. Our Pre-UIL Concert will be during the school day.

The Middle School Region Band and High School Jazz Band Clinic and Concert has been rescheduled to March 28th.

We are having a mandatory trip meting for all students attending the trip on Monday, March 6th at 7 pm. The student and one parent are required to be at the meeting to get information.

Also, here is which park we will be starting and ending our day while on the trip. Students will be able to park hop starting at 2 pm when we are at Disney parks.

All students who advanced to the UIL Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest will be attending the contest on May 29th with the exception of the trumpet quartet playing Dos Tiempos. The district has decided to send us the day of instead of the day before. We will not be staying overnight at a hotel the night before. More details to follow.
