Principal's Message
Dear Hiteon Community,
The start of a new school year is just around the corner, and our school is beginning to come alive with the promise of a new year. Summer has been a time of preparation here at Hiteonโour custodial team has been hard at work getting the building ready, teachers will begin to set up their classrooms, and our office has been busy making sure every detail is in place for a smooth start.
This year, our schoolwide theme is โKindness Belongs Here.โ Weโre excited to weave kindness into all aspects of our learning communityโencouraging respect, grace, and empathy so that every student, staff member, and family feels seen, valued, and welcome.
The first day of school always brings a mix of excitement and possibility, and we are eager to see our students walk through the doors ready to learn, connect, and grow. Thank you for partnering with us in making Hiteon a place where every child can thrive.
Hereโs to a fantastic 2025โ2026 school year!
Warmly,
Janet Maza, Principal
Jenny Read-Emslie, Assistant Principal

๐ฆทFree Dental Services Offered at Hiteon๐ฆท
The Virginia Garcia Dental team has served the Beaverton School District by providing free dental assessments, sealants, and fluoride to children in the district for more than 10 years now. This year, Hiteon is included as one of the 23 BSD schools this year. These services are target to students in grades K, 1, 2, 3.
The scheduled dates for Hiteon are 10/30, 12/4, 2/18, 5/18. Please mark your calendars.
A few weeks prior to the above dates, we will send an information sheet and consent form home to families (in English and Spanish). The signed consent form allows children to receive the free dental assessment, sealants, and fluoride, or decline all services.

Volunteer Background Check System
If you havenโt done so already, please reapply to be a volunteer in the Beaverton School District. Weโre implementing a new volunteer management system over the summer and need time to process and complete the criminal background checks for all applicants.
Start on the Volunteer webpage on the district website. The entire process โ including the review of the Child Abuse Prevention & Reporting and Adult Sexual Misconduct training materials โ should take less than 10 minutes to complete.
Thank you for prioritizing our studentsโ safety and for your willingness to volunteer in BSD.
