Your Weekly Cougar News
- Happy Friday!
October 11 - October 17, 2026
After celebrating a great Homecoming and our school’s 50th anniversary, we are enjoying the beautiful fall weather and the amazing colors on the trees. The trees on our property were planted many years ago and have become firmly rooted in the ground as our maintenance team has carefully watered and fertilized them. These trees provide shade during the heat of summer, and in the fall, they display vibrant colors, declaring God’s glory and strength.
Throughout the fall, our chapel speakers and school theme have challenged us to be rooted in our faith—to be like a tree with deep roots. As we move into the next stretch of the school year, students and teachers are settling into our academic routines, friendships are being formed, and expectations for where we need to be, when we need to be there, and how we treat one another are becoming more familiar.
It is our hope that, as we continue through this school year, all of our roots would grow deep—that God’s Word would shape our thinking, soften our hearts, and guide our actions and words. It is also our hope that our students would gain a vision for what God has planned for their lives. This vision is not just for our high school students who are preparing to graduate in the coming years; it is for every student—that they would see more clearly who God has created them to be and learn to lean into and trust Him.
Please join us in praying for our school—for every student, every teacher, and every member of our support staff. We want to experience God’s grace, mercy, and love as we allow our roots to grow deep in His Truth.
Thank you for choosing Lenawee Christian School!

Weekly Chapel Update
A big thank you to Pastor Nate Sharpe for sharing God's Word with us this week and to our fifth-grade students for helping lead chapel!
Pastor Nate Sharpe (alumni and parent) reminded us that abiding in God means staying connected to Him. When we stay connected to Jesus, we are better able to share His love, forgiveness, and joy with others.
He challenged our students to remember three simple ways to grow closer to God:
PRAY – READ – FOLLOW
PRAY: Talk to Jesus.
READ: Listen to God's Word.
FOLLOW: Obey what God teaches us.
Talk About It at Home: Ask your child what it means to stay connected to Jesus. How can your family practice Pray, Read, Follow together this week?
What a wonderful reminder that growing in our faith begins with spending time with Jesus each day!
Donuts With Dad
We invite our LCS elementary dads and students (K–5th grade) to a sweet morning of fellowship on Friday, October 23 from 7:30-8:15. Come enjoy donuts and a special time with your child(ren) before the school day begins! We hope you can stay and enjoy our Elementary Praise Time from 8:00-8:15.
This event is designed for students and their dads, or one special guest if Dad can’t attend. We look forward to starting the day together, celebrating family, friendship, and God’s goodness.
If you have a PreK camper please plan to drop your camper off at their Camp at 7:15 am prior to heading down to the cafeteria.
Chapel Update
Pastor Austin reminded students that faith is meant to be lived out, not just spoken about. As believers, we are called to demonstrate our love for Christ through obedience, kindness, and a wholehearted commitment to Him. His message encouraged everyone to examine whether their lives truly reflect the faith they profess and to pursue a deeper, more authentic relationship with God.
Community Service Hours - High School Only
Community service is a graduation requirement. Students in 9-12 grade must complete 10 hours of unpaid community service each school year, outside of Community Service Day and NHS requirements.
Deadlines:
- January 20: 5 hours for 1st semester
- May 1: 5 hours for 2nd semester
Service logs are available in the High School Office, Registrar’s Office, and on the LCS website. Completed logs should be turned in to the Registrar’s Office and must be verified by someone other than a parent/guardian. Students looking for service opportunities at LCS can see or email Mrs. Chadek (jchadek@lenawee.org).
Detention
Detention is on Wednesday mornings 6:45-7:45 am or Thursday afternoons 3:15-4:15 pm each week. We are asking those who are coming in the morning to please let Mrs. Raymond (jraymond@lenawee.org) or Senora Wood (jwood@lenawee.org) know via email no later than 3:30 pm the day before.
