Build Fly Code Compete

The Build Fly Code Compete - CSinPA Drone Professional Learning Program empowers educators to engage in and create computer science (CS) learning experiences using drone technology.

Program Goals:

• Expand access to Computer Science (CS) for all students.
• Support in-person, virtual, and hybrid Computer Science (CS) learning environments.
• Empower educators as leaders in CS education.

Participant Expectations:

• Develop standards-aligned materials.
• Identify and close equity gaps in CS education.
• Articulate the importance of CS in the community.
• Demonstrate foundational CS Knowledge.

Program Structure:

• Preparation Phase: Build drones and plan lessons.
• Implementation Phase: Execute lessons with students, engage in check-ins.
• Capstone Phase: Present projects and strategies for continued implementation.

Any school who wants to integrate computer science in a fun, effective way that encourages and supports all students in learning and exploring a potential career path.

• Participants are required to attend all 3 days and must commit to incorporating the free resources into their curriculum.
• No drones are provided to schools; however, ARIN can support in the way of the Lending Library to borrow the drones, and to connect schools to low cost suppliers and grants to help with the purchase of drones for the program.
• All sessions are 8:00 am - 3:00 pm, lunch is on your own.
• Location TBD.
• Act 48 credit is available.
