Attendance Matters: All Day, Every Day

Regular school attendance is one of the most important factors in your child's academic success. Every day in school provides valuable learning opportunities that help students build skills, develop relationships, and stay on track with their education.

Please remember that the State of Texas 90% Attendance Rule is in effect for all school-aged children. This means that students must be in attendance for at least 90% of the school year to receive credit for their grade level. A student who misses more than 15 days during the school year may be at risk of being retained in the same grade level, regardless of academic performance.

Let's work together to ensure your child is at school every day, arrives on time, and remains at school for the entire instructional day so they can receive the high-quality education they deserve.

Thank you for your partnership and commitment to your child's success!

School Uniforms are a District Requirement

School uniforms help create a positive learning environment, promote school pride, reduce distractions, and ensure that students are dressed appropriately and ready to learn each day. We ask for your support in making sure your child wears their school uniform daily.

From time to time, we will have special events that allow for free dress. These opportunities will be announced in advance so that families have plenty of notice and students can participate.

If your family is in need of school uniforms, please do not hesitate to contact the school. We are happy to work with you and explore ways we may be able to assist.

Thank you for your partnership in helping us maintain a safe, respectful, and focused learning environment for all students!** 🏫📚**

Hispanic Heritage Month: The origin of the piñata

The piñata is a beloved tradition for many children. Despite being associated with Hispanic culture, the piñata originates from Asia, according to Spanish Language Arts teachers. “It’s believed the piñata actually derives from Marco Polo way back in the days when he was traveling through Asia,” said Adan Martinez, a Spanish teacher at Socorro High School.
