Fall Fun Information
School Wide Fall Fun Day!
We are excited to announce a new Barfield tradition! In place of a traditional fall classroom party, we will be hosting a school wide Fall Party! This will take place on Friday, October 23rd. We have so many fun games, activities, dance parties, costume parades, and prize tables planned for our students. All students are to wear their costumes to school. Students should not bring small costume accessories because they get lost rather easily.
Please avoid the following when making costume decisions.
In an attempt to maintain a positive climate at our school, we are trying to avoid the following items:
Blood or weapons (plastic knives, guns, ninja sticks)
Dying or changing the color of your child’s hair (ok to use if you do it at home before school)
Face painting
Low cut tops or tight-fitting leotards unless other clothing is worn over the leotards
Mask that would be frightening to younger children (if unsure, please talk with Mr. Schulte)
Suggestive sexual dress or offending dress
Roller blades, roller skates, high heels, or skateboards
These costumes may be appropriate for Halloween night, but not for school.
We thank you for choosing a school appropriate costume for your child.
LEADER IN ME
What's been happening at BEC
LIM home to school connection: We are learning about what it means to be a leader; what leaders do and say. We have been practicing being leaders in our classroom with assigned leadership roles. Leaders have a plan, share their ideas and help others. Some examples of how your child can be a leader at home: zipping their own backpack, putting their folder or water bottle in their backpack, picking out their clothes for the next day, helping unload the dishwasher, cleaning up their toys. Please be on the lookout for a paper coming home for you to fill out with your child!
Please take a few minutes to fill out our Leader in Me, Family MRA Survey
