If you are planning for a decade, plant trees;
If you are planning for a lifetime, educate people."

Summary of A-F Indicators
2023-2027 (A-F 2.0)
The A-F Accountability System for 2023-2027 is a refreshed set of indicators designed to continuously improve student performance, eliminate achievement gaps, and ensure all students are being prepared for postsecondary success.
The A-F 2.0, maintains the overall structure of three domains but introduces updated methodologies and targets for the five-year cycle.
IMRA
Instructional Materials Review and Approval
Cycle 2025
Unlike the former Proclamation-based system, which reviewed each subject in rotation, the IMRA model retains and re-examines previously approved content areas. This cumulative approach means publishers cannot treat a past approval as static. Each cycle reintroduces revised EKS, updated rubrics, and new accessibility or data reporting requirements. Publishers must maintain a version-controlled, adaptable product line that can be resubmitted or reverified without full development.
This system also creates opportunities for incremental improvement. Materials approved in earlier cycles can be updated and strengthened over time, provided they continue to conform to current TEKS and accessibility standards.
The following subjects and categories of instructional materials approved by the SBOE during IMRA Cycle 2025 will be ready for classroom implementation in the 2026-2027 school year:
- Full-Subject, Tier-One:
- Mathematics K-12
- ELAR K-6
- Partial-Subject, Tier-One
- English Phonics K-3
- Supplemental Materials
- Mathematics K-12
STAAR Stand-Alone Field Test
February 2 - 6, 2026
The Texas Education Agency will conduct a stand-alone field test for STAAR reading language arts assessments to ensure that sufficient extended constructed-response questions are developed for future state assessments.
The following grade levels at the secondary campus have been selected to participate in the required STAAR Stand-Alone Field Test:
- Grade 7 RLA
- English II
As required by Texas Education Code Section 39.035, administering the February 2026 stand-alone field test is mandatory for campuses selected.
Sneezy the Snowman
Sneezy the Snowman is cold, cold, cold.
To warm up, he drinks cocoa, sits in a hot tub,
stands near a warm fire - and melts!
But the children know just what to do to build him up again
- and make him feel "just right."
