Spotlight on Learning
Benny Bucks Encourages Positive Behaviors!
Our school is excited to roll out Benny Bucks, a new program designed to promote and celebrate positive behaviors throughout our campus. Students who demonstrate expected and appropriate behaviors can earn a Benny Buck ticket from staff members. These tickets are entered into grade-level drawings, giving students the opportunity to select items from a special prize cart! Winners also receive recognition by having their pictures displayed in the school lobby, celebrating their efforts and inspiring their peers. Currently, we’re focusing on positive behaviors in the hallways and during transitions, but stay tuned—additional behavior expectations will be emphasized in the coming weeks. Let’s work together to make our school a safe, respectful, and positive place to learn!

Upcoming Events and Reminders
Mid-year i-Ready Testing Scheduled for this Month
This month we will begin our i-Ready mid-year testing in ELA and Math. For both of these subjects, your child's results will reset and adjust their personalized learning path. This path ensures that they are working on instruction that matches their learning needs during the online portion of their learning. Your child previously took the diagnostic for both Math and ELA in September and will take the end of year assessment in May. Teachers will be using the results of the assessment during data meetings to tailor their instruction for the coming weeks.
Weather Advisory - Dress for Outdoor Recess
With the unpredictable nature of the New England weather, we encourage parents to dress their children in layers that can be added or removed to accommodate variations in temperature and conditions. Please note that students will go outside for recess most days of the year. Thank you.
Student Absences
If your child misses school for any reason, please contact the main office. Absences may be excused for medical appointments with a note from the doctor's office. Notes can be sent in to your child's teacher or faxed/emailed directly to the main office.
Health Office Reminders about Student Illnesses
Any student with a fever of 100 degrees or more, diarrhea, or vomiting, cannot return to school until they are fever/symptom free for 24 hours without the use of fever/symptom reducing medicine (Tylenol, Motrin etc.) If a child is absent for five or more consecutive days, a written note from your child’s health care provider may be required for re-entry to school. If you have any questions, please contact our Nurse Kimball at (508) 821-1245 or ckimball@tauntonschools.org.
Join the Bennett Elementary School Facebook Group
